Help With Updating Devious Devices Integration For Current Playthrough

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a set way to upgrade from older versions of Devious Devices Integration which have the old Devious Deviants ESP to the new one without it.

Normally, that would require a clean save but I just want to see if it's feasible. I tried doing a clean save to update Prison Overhaul from the old PO with patch 8t to the new ones with all the bells and whistles

I use Mod Organizer so I tried to see if I could sneak by and just turn off the DDi, DDe, etc. and turning on the updated ones after cleaning out the old PO and using save cleaner on the game file.

It almost worked. I just couldn't get arrested properly. I'd get arrested and bound but then my character would be left on the ground and the guard would just stand looking at me and never bring my character to prison.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Its really best to start over or a new profile since you use MO.  If you insist on trying, you will need to also disable all of the mods that require DD. Doing all that and then upgrading DD and then re enabling those mods will corrupt your saves in ways that you may not even notice right away. Going from 4.0 to 4.`1 is very easy and should have no issues and I have done it myself. Updating anything earlier than 4.0, to 4.0/4.1 is highly advised against.

Would the game even load if you disabled all your Devious Device mods?

I'd bet it just be an immediate CTD but I just wanted to see if there was a way to get it to work but I figured that the odds were low considering how much stuff is in the mods and how they all work in tandem regardless of using Save Cleaner or not.

Couldn't see a workaround in the DDi support thread.

Oh wells, I'll finish my play through as is. I'll leave the new setup I made for a future Skyrim playthrough. Thanks for your info.
