Honey Select question

I recently bought a new computer and I was looking forward to get Honey Select again. I was pretty happy to see it got officially released in the west… Then all that happiness went down when I saw the price (Jesus…). I decided to go for the good'ol pirate version to try the newest version and see if it's worth my money (I loved the game back then, but this update better include some really good stuff or else I ain't wasting a cent in the game), but I just can't find a good link (either I end up at a fishy website, or files are broken).

Can you guys point me to a good place to download it?

HSU is not worth it. Even though it's uncensored and already translated, you can do this with mods for the normal JP version. Also, you will find thousands of mods for the JP version. Get the full version of HS + DLCs, and then browse around on HongFire for mods.
If you're PC is awesome, look into getting LRE (Linear Rendering Experiment) and IBL (Image Based Lighting) working, you will not regret it.

I wouldn't say "awesome", but my laptop is pretty up to date and doesn't have any problem handling games in general.

My specs : Windows 8.1, x64, quadcore 2.40GHz, 8GB ram
Runs HS pretty smooth until you use the studio and pack it full of props and characters.
If your specs are similar you won't have any problems, if it's better than that you can run the 4k models all day.

My specs are higher than that, so I shouldn't have any problems then.

I will try to point you in the right direction to get started.
Once you obtain a copy of HS + DLC pack, and have it installed + verified that it is working, then comes modding.
Travel to HongFire, and click HF Game Mods, HS is a sticky thread.
There is 16 pages of mods to browse through. I would start with the basics and the "have fun" patch found on the discussion page.

-Make sure you obtain Illusion Plugin Architecture. Depending on what you want to do, you may eventually need MoreslotID, and HiR.
(I don't remember where I found the latest versions of HiR \ HiR_neo. It was either Anime Sharing, or buried on some chinese mod site. GL.)
-You really only need HiR if you're adding items to the game or to the studio. Not required by any means.
If you're really batshit crazy get SB3UGS for some more advanced tooling. Rarely needed, unless you are a modder yourself.
I will recommend you pick up wideslider, shortcut plugin, HSPE, and HSUS. Not required, but very useful.
~Forewarning with the shortcut plugin, F5 is the key to load cubemaps via IBL, it's also the key that permanently changes the active facial expression.
Shortcut plugin can be toggled with S fortunately, so remember to turn it off before you mess with IBL.

LRE from plasticmind, all three of his mods are condensed to one post, makes things easier. Read carefully, easy to mess up here.
I would suggest you acquire LRE early on, and keep your installation files just in case you botch the game with a bad mod install.
Once your game is modded and working, that's the best time to delete the compressed archives.

I will also mention that my Honey Select folder is boasting 50GB right now with everything I've accumulated. (My CM3D 2 folder is 70GB :b)
So be wary this game may be a space hog.

When in doubt, read the comments on the mod thread, and the modding discussion forums.
Pro tip: Don't make a hongfire account, you have more privileges as an anon, the site is severely lacking support.

Any other questions I may be able to help you with if you need.
