Origin update

After the Origin update today June 25, my sims will not load. I updated all of my mods(wickedwhims and basemetal drugs) the only two I have and the game was working fine last night when I played. Today Origin updated and now my game won't load. I spoke with an EA guy and he stated that the update stopped all mods and that is why my game will not load, he stated that EA doesn't want or shall I say recommend using mods(I'm sorry but the game sucks without mods. Of course if I remove the mod folder the game loads, but who wants to play without mods. Mods like the two mentioned above and others are the only reason I play the sims.

I was just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

I think the person from EA was being a bit more direct in the fact that after any major EA update the "Enable custom content and mods" switch is turned off by the game. Try turning it back on and loading your sims.

My game won't even load to turn it off, every time I push play it just goes back to Origin screen. If I remove the mod folder it loads with no problem. I removed the only two mods I have and it still doesn't work.

Well if its not working without mods, then its not mods causing the problem. You need to verify your files or something cause the game dun broke.

I have the same problem.... Working on it now.... I'll let you know when I find the problem and the solution.  I started by updating TURBODRIVER'S ww mod. all good so far.lol

same thing happened to me today.... my game loads and it shows all the mods i have in game but wickedwhims is not showing up when i click on related objects i enabled the mods and still nothing ...... i agree with you the sims 4 sucks big time without wickedwhims

Yes I had that issue it was due to broken content but now wicked whims isn't working and when i go into my game the options are gone.

I am writing down the content from my mods folder and slowly adding them back in and turning it on as I go.  So far it's working, hopefully they will figure away for wickedwhims to work soon. I know I don't want to play the game without it.

I had a problem every time EA updated  I found that when an update  starts I remove my mods folder to my desktop when it is done updating I put my mods folder back and it works fine.

I've been having a similar issue after the June 25th update. Every time I went to play a household, it would show a "102" error code and recommended I restart the game. I restarted several times, and it still gave the error message. Sometimes when I would load a household, it would return to the world selection screen and then display the same error message when I tried to load the household again. This happened no matter what save file or household I chose. A friend suggested I remove script mods and try again. I removed all script mods except for TurboDriver's script mod. When I loaded my game, the error message appeared again. Then I tried putting the script mods back and just removed TurboDriver's mod, and it worked just fine. Then I tried putting all of the WW mods back in, and the same message came up. I have all the updated mods and everything and I still get this message. If anyone has a solution, please let me know!

 

P.S. I also tried repairing the game and re-installing the game as well; the same message still came up regardless. I am attaching a copy of the error message. I have searched this error message online and all it shows is how to repair a save. I have tried what was suggested, and it still didn't work. WW and TurboDriver's mods worked just fine before this update. This is frustrating because I love this mod. I can't play my game without it.

I'm sorry, this is happening to your game.  I took wickedwhims out and basemental and my game works with me slowly putting back in my mod folder content, I hope that they have fixed whatever issue that was happening. I for one find the game boring without WW and BM.

Turns out it was a conflict with the TurboDriver mod. I forgot how I fixed it, but I was able to use WW in my game after that. Now I have installed the newest update for TurboDriver and when I load the game, it tells me that WW is outdated and I need to update it? How is it outdated when I have the newest update?

I never updated WW, I have the WW before the June 23 update, and with putting my mod folder back in a little at a time, my game is working. I didn't want to try the newest one, since everyone was having error code problem.

I did that and it worked for me. also helps when I remember that some files are in save and important to rinse, before adding ww script

After the last Origin update WW stopped working. I updated WW and had no problem. Now  when I try to run TS4 Origin keeps popping up. I've played with the mods and mods folder, taking them out and putting them back in, and I get nothing. WW made a very boring S4 fun. I will keep watching for a fix.

Great forum here.  I'm not a usual poster, more a lurker.  But this update, EA did something it never did before:  uninstalled the game.  What?

 

1.  Tried to run the Sims 4 (with WW and various nudity mods) for the first time in 2 weeks.  It said Origin needed an update.

• It never completed.  I tried running it today, Origin said the game was uninstalled.
• I took my old Mods folder out, and tried reinstalling.
• Upon clicking the "install" button, the message switched to "finalizing"
• Then I got a "download error"
• Tried again: "Install" then it again said "finalizing"
• This time, finally, it completed, a few seconds later.  The button now said "play" and indeed the game loaded.

 

So, message is, Origin might say that the game has been uninstalled, if it fails in one of its many update steps.  This is simply bad communication / bad software engineering on their part.

sorry u had so many problems. for me lol I never knew origin updated for it was to late. nothing happened on my end. if I had known I would of removed my mod file for I aloud the update. which is my usual custom.

 

I learned that from  sims 3 mod creator on nraas…

Wow, I can't believe that! So maybe the reason for my error in game is due to Origin? How do I fix this? Do I just keep uninstalling and reinstalling Origin or Sims 4 until it's completed?

Nettles, I'd suspect the problem with WW in your game is just that, a WW problem.  It may need to be updated to keep up with changes to the Sims and its add-ons. 

 

This is a very common problem with mods; you just have to wait (and hope) for the mod author to fix the issues, then install the updated version of the mod (in this case, WW).

I don't understand why WW doesn't want to work in my game. I check WW just about every day and I always downloaded the newest versions when they come out.

You guys...I think I finally fixed my game! Everything seems to work now. I have downloaded the newest version of WW and it still works with no errors! 

 

What I ended up doing was updating the UI cheat extension mod and the Tmex mods and that seemed to fix the problem. I had thought I had the newest updates for both, but apparently not! I'm just so glad I can use WW again...the game is far too boring without it!
