Do animations have to be updated?

Hey, so I'm new to this whole Wicked Whims thing. I absolutely love it. I like the realistic feel it adds to the game and the overall gameplay as well. With the new June Sims update, I know it's broken a lot of mods/cc. Thankfully, there's a new version of Wicked Whims that works with the update. However, I was wondering do the animations have to be updated as well to work in the game? I have some animations that haven't been updated in months but I've noticed sims take a while to do tasks that I tell them to do; they'll stand there for like minute (real time) and then do the action. I feel like it's the animations because I'll remove WW and the animations out of my game and the issue subsides. So do animations ever have to be updated to work with the new game updates?

Hi!

Glad you're enjoying the mod and content!

Animation files will only NEED to be updated for a specific issue, like if the Wickedwhims XML format changes somehow,

The game itself doesn't affect them nor the other way around but it's a good idea to update your collection from time to time as the animation updates are for the purpose of adding more positions and interactions, fetishes etc,

Script mods like WW, basemental drugs, career mods anything else that adds gameplay features or actually alters the rules or behaviour of the game and your Sims will need to be updated regularly,

If you're experiencing lag which is minimised by removing WW it's not necessarily to blame,

It's likely that another mod is conflicting with it by either being outdated or trying to use the same resource,

There's a strong chance that you'll find the same outcome if removed everything except wickedwhims,

Eg having mods for nudity or relationships will cause problems as WW is set up to take care of these,

If you're using the most recent version of the mod,

It's a good idea to go through your other script mods to see what is redundant since installing WW and remove them, then check out your other script mods by Googling their names and they may have updated versions ready and waiting

Thanks so much for replying! That makes a lot of sense. I'm going to test the different mod scripts I have installed and try to figure out which one(s) is conflicting. I really like WW and I don't want to play without it haha Thanks again!

IF you find out which script is causing your hang-ups, do please share back on this thread so that others can take advantage of your intel.

Your welcome, hope that helps and you solve it quickly,

Another tip..

If you have a lot of mods in your folder, it helps to sort it by type,

This way, rather than scouring the list alphabetically you can get a clear view of your script mods listed together,

These will appear as TS4SCRIPT or in some cases a zip/rar file as some script mods require it to NOT be extracted,

An example of this is the No fat/No muscle mod which prevents Sims physique from being changed by exercise or over/under eating,

If extracted, it doesn't work!

I also use this!

My folder is relatively conflict free and with this mod, my Sims actions are virtually instantaneous!!

With the new patch it's probably due for an update too any day now
