Guest Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Greetings to all LL members It's been a while since I've written any thread entries, but sadly this one will be written with a saddened and enraged heart. I feel that I should inform everyone of what has happened as it could effect my modding as well as my 3D design in the future. After going to the rAge Expo yesterday, 10/05/2012, when I got back home I was absolutely broken. I was left to a nightmare filled with pain and hate. While I was up in Johannesburg today, 4 thieves broke into my house, and stole countless valuable items from me. My external harddrive, my dual screens, my keyboard, my sound system, and most of all, my dreams. My external hard drive had 13 years' work stored on it of my 3D design career, it kills me. They've managed to steal both my screens, my keyboard, a lifetime's work, my dreams and most of all, my dignity, due to the fact that these thieves did not stop at my computer. Getting back all the data I lost is easy, the games, the apps the pictures, the mods (at least most of it) but getting back the 3D designs the memories of making every single design, the graphic design work, the time sacrifices to make everything, would be impossible. Currently I'm in a state where I feel like giving up. Having 13 years' work being stolen from me with explanation to why it happened. Everything that made me what I'm today was on that drive, now it is nothing. Just feel I needed to let everyone know, for if you see any of my work on some dodgy site on the internet, that you'd please let me know, so that I can hopefully stop who ever did this. While the thieves may have been able to steal from you, don't let them have the final victory! Don't ever let go of your dreams! At times you have to briefly put them on hold to deal with reality but never, ever turn your back on them. Dreams are what drive us to better ourselves. They are a fountain of strength, hope and joy that make life worth living. I wish you the best, Greg

But remember that while the thieves may have stolen bytes and metal, those ideas and dreams are only yours. Sure, they might replicate them (I doubt such rascals even have the skill to do so, though), but the hard work, the concepts, the spark of creativity - they cannot get ahold of those. Walk with your head high, because during these thirteen years your contributions and insights in 3D and modding have made good, honest people happy, and inspired many more to follow in your steps. Keep fighting the good fight: it's worth it, because like I said, nobody can take away what is in your head, and your heart - the measure of a man or a woman is in their spirit.

Still, even without the bytes they stole - for that is all they can take from you - you remain the man you were. And that man is both creative and skilled. I suppose at the end of it all, there is a reason to why this happened. Maybe right now I might not understand it, but somewhere further down the line I might. [/quote'] Thank you for the support, still can't grasp or even comprehend what happened, feels still so very. . . . unreal. To think I still had all of it a few days ago and now it is just gone. Trying to find my nuts and bolts to try and rebuild what I've lost. At least I have some sort of concept art left, and that is what I've uploaded to my deviantart profile. Hopefully I can get back to some game modding in the near future, as for now though, I still need realize all the damage that has been done. Still discovering things now that was stolen, a day later. Thank you to everyone for the support. I can barely believe what happened let alone try to explain what has happened. [/quote'] Hope so too, if at least I can see how these low lifes looks like it would be a bit better, knowing how they look would give some form of satisfaction.
