Bodyslide Issue: Deleted Feet

Recommended Posts

I've got a bodyslide problem: I seem to have irrevocably deleted my feet. I think I did a batch build and accidently excluded the feet so there was no foot mesh for a while, but replacing the mesh doesn't seem to have restored my feet. In game I hover a few inches above the floor with no character model below the ankles.

Things that I've tried to bring my feet back:

Going into bodyslide and rebuilding making sure "CBBE feet" is on the list

Manually saving the bodyslide output and putting femalefeet_0.nif and femalefeet_1.nif manually into the right spot in the data folder

Taking those files and putting them into a 7z file, declaring them a mod, putting them at the top of my load order and telling them to overwrite everything that conflicts with them

Opening those files in outfit studio to ensure that they do in fact contain feet (They do)

Doing all of the above and starting a brand new game rather than loading a save

Still no feet!

I'm at the point of "uninstall everything and start over" but I figured I'd ask first in case there's a way to save the situation. Does anyone have any idea what might be preventing the recovery of my feet?

Are you sure you don't have a mod conflict somewhere? As far as I know even if you don't have a foot mesh it should use the vanilla one, I don't think that would cause no feet.

Is this while nude or wearing an outfit?

I'm reasonably confident I don't have a conflict, because (other than the improvised foot mesh mod) I've not changed the installed mods since starting the game and I used to have feet. Also none of my mods are supposed to change the feet (other than bodyslide and cbbe - even then I didn't deliberately edit the feet in either).

The feet have to be nude, if I'm wearing boots then the boot mesh displays fine, but no boots means no feet regardless of whether I'm otherwise dressed or not.

I've discovered some other missing meshes (mostly devious devices) that are similarly missing and resistant to being restored by rebuild or installation into data/meshes/(various) so it seems to be a general problem of the form "I can't replace a mesh that's ever been missing" rather than a specific foot issue.
