RichterQ87 Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 So I decided to try and do a rough conversion for an outfit to my body preset, but after loading the base body template, then the outfit, then loading the preset, it pops up with the following error message when I try and edit anything whatsoever. Spoiler Problem with this is that, in order to modify the outfit to fit my desired bodyshape, I have to be able to SEE the bodyshape. That means the bodyslide preset sliders have to remain as they are. Anyone better versed in Outfit studio conversion willing to help me out?
oldrayzor Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 A conversion means from one body type to another - ie. CBBE to UNP. What format are you using for the outfit and what format for the body? Or are you simply trying to fit an outfit to a body shape of the same format?

No, actually you conform it to the baseshape and then Bodyslide builds/conforms the outfit (saved in a new project) to your body preset. So tell me what format is your outfit and what format is your body.
RichterQ87 Posted May 31, 2018 Author Posted May 31, 2018 Perhaps I should've been more descriptive. I thought the screenshot would clear things up but apparently that's not showing up on my side, anyway. Anyway, I basically edited an existing .nif of some clothes and removed the broken CBBE bodyslide thing inside there and ported in my own CBBE body. But now I have to increase/decrease mesh volume of the clothes to fit around the new body the best I can because I don't know of any better method and this works well enough, it seems. So yes, I suppose you're right. Technically it's the same body type, AKA CBBE, but just different shapes. So now I need to fit the clothes around the new shapes!
oldrayzor Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Okay. Sorry was detained. Also, not able to see your image. 17 hours ago, RichterQ87 said: But now I have to increase/decrease mesh volume of the clothes to fit around the new body Well you needn't use sliders for the outfit. There are lots of tools in Outfit Studio for conforming a mesh around the body. See any number of tutorials. There are only two conditions under which you may simply shape an outfit and run with it without creating a project. First, the outfit takes up the full form having no base female body contained in the nif. or else your npc or player weight is erither 0 or 100 (otherwise = neck-seam). Your best bet is to create an outfit project. Since there are multiple variables I don't know (using HDT, have or have not weights added to outfit, form fitting vs dress, etc.) here is just a very basic step-by-step for creating a project. It does not address copying weights or anything else. Spoiler 1 - Open a "new Project" under file menu in OutfitStudio 2 - Select your body reference "CBBE or CBBE HDT" (which every you want) then click Next 3 - Select your outfit and click Finish 4 - Conform your outfit mesh to your reference body 5 - Now select your base shape and, under the Slider menu select "Set Base Shape" 6 - Now select your outfit (and/or all it's parts if it has multiple partitions) 7 - Under the Slider menu, now select "Conform All". Test by moving your sliders to see if the outfit moves as well. 8 - That's basically it. You can now save the outfit as a Project. 9 - Back in Bodyslide, you now select the saved outfit project in the top-left drop-menu called "Outfit" and select your body preset in the drop-down just below. Click preivew and you should see it has been conformed to your preset body. Finally - Build It.

I basically just kept decreasing/increasing meshes in places and loading my body preset to see if it fits it well, then reverting to the original body so I could increase/decrease the mesh of the outfit to fit it. Then repeat until success. Then I'd load up the game and see if when the HDT CBBE that I'm using clips through the outfit when bouncing, which after some trial and error does not. But I'll definitely keep your advice in mind for future consideration, and maybe give it a test run on the outfit I've already 'completed' to see if it's better than what I've done. Much obliged.
