First of, i'm now to this forum, so excuse my ignorance, i have mod games before, but i got 0 experience with fallout modding.. so, where the hell i must place my ****.esp files so they work? i use the steam version, as i readed, they go at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas\Data\nvse\plugins.

Also please excuse me if i'm not asking in the right place.

P.D.: i'm using the Sexout of course..

First things first. You need to move steam out of the program files directory. Here is how to do it without having to reinstall all of your games: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129

The reason for doing this is that you will be fighting UAC and windows permissions with every mod you install and try to use.

Next you should read this (it is for oblivion but the concept is exactly the same as they are both Bethesda products): http://cs.elderscrolls.com/index.php/Oblivion_Mods_FAQ

but can't i just disable UAC?

You could but it#s highly not recommended at all. Why you ask? Well if a malicious program gets in there then you doomed. UAC is a security feature and should be treated as such.

Just do what Greg said it's not going to take very long.

As Ark of Truth stated it is not recommended. Even if you do disable it, you will still fight permissions issues even if you are logged in as administrator! Don't blame me....it is microsoft's fault, not mine. :P

Yeah' date=' "You must be a administrator to do this action"

I am the god damn administrator!!

Except that even as administrator you have to do all sorts of funky shit to really get control of the stuff you "should" already have control over. In the hopes of making it hack proof, MS just F'd into a cocked hat.

UAC sucks balls.

However, due to particular cocks microsoft was sucking the day they coded UAC, your computer is more likely to get fucked in the ass if UAC isn't busy sucking off the dicks of the metaphorical computer viruses, etc, out there.

So yeah never install shit to the program files folder on a box with UAC, personally I install directly to the C:\ directory.

Anyway since the OP question is more than answered lets hijack the thread!

Who here about shit bricks the first time they got on a PC with UAC and suddenly the screen goes black for a split second before the yes/no button comes up.

Well! NOW i'm totally fucked up, not even disabling the UAC now will make the mod work! says that either a firewall or UAC is preventing it to "work" or that i need to reinstall the mod, which i already did, or that i should update my 32-bit Visual Redistributable Package (i have Win 7 Home Premium 64-bits).. What now? ...

Did you move steam out of the program files directory or just turn off UAC? If you just tried to turn off UAC then as I said before you are still going to be fighting permissions problems, even if you are logged in as the administrator won't help you.

Ok, lets back up:

1. Where did you move steam to? Give us the path.

2. Did you uninstall and then reinstall steam as per the instructions on the link I gave you?

Posted

1. To C: drive, no program files or anything, just to the C:/steam etc..

2. Yes i did.

Edit: I moved it back to the original place.. at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\fallout new vegas
