A year late but better late than never I suppose.
Finally updated these to work with v4.4.*, would be nice if Paradox didn't change how portraits work with every second update.
Installation:
Simply extract the contents of the zip to documents/paradox interactive/stellaris/mod

What's New in Version 1.4.1
Released
1.4.1:
Replaced a bunch of portraits that were either poorly cropped or looked a bit out of place.
You may need to delete the mod from your library, boot the game and then reinstall for it to take effect, as it seems to cache them somewhere.
