Backstory:

                    Carina was born part vampire. She has the appearance of a vampire but grows like a human. The week she was born she started growing exponentially more then a normal human would. After her first month, she was already 3 years old. By the second month, she turned 7 and so on…

Carina grew up relatively fast. Shyvana and Thaiden didn’t really have a lot of time to teach her things. Carina shares a fair amount of her mothers personality; being shy and quiet. Also unlike her mother she wasn't as off to talk to, she was more easy going but very quiet. Carina's existence was kept a secret until her father and mother were sure she wouldn't pose a problem among the other vampires. Although with Harkon's death and his daughter Serana taking lead, there wasnt much to fear. Even with little appearance to the castle, Carina was very much liked among the Volkihar clan, even though she didnt care much about them. She didnt want the attention, and wanted more to be left alone.
 

Carina was naturally gifted magical knowledge from her mother though did not know how to use it. Shyvana and Thaiden agreed to teach her basic and advance level magic skills. Thaiden strictly forbade Shyvana to teach her any dark or forbidden magic she knew. Carina was very curious to know more. One day, she took it upon herself to glimpse over a few pages of a book of forbidden daedric knowledge written at the time of the Elder Scrolls. She was temporary blinded and retained a permanent mark on her left eye in which she hides with her hair. Carina would've been blinded permanently if not for her partial vampirism genes from her mother. This event was a little bit of an eye opener for her parents, it said she had the ability to take on harsh magical knowledge without permanent damage to herself. Something only a high or true blood vampire could do. Carina's natural magical skills had more potential but Thaiden did not want her to end up like her mother did: broken. She was forbidden to learn more from both her parents.

Ever since the day she was nearly blinded, her marks become an indication to some that she was infact not exactly human. It is unknown how common folk will react to her "odd" appearance. Though likely ignored, since her mothers appearance is a lot worse and less subtle.
