Name: Captain Vylise Panoitte

Race: Breton / Elf

Gender: Female

Age: 25

Description:

She is about 5'6", short red hair, fiery temper when angry but usually calm and collected. Her father was a Breton and her mother was an elf, however the Breton is more predominate. She views death as just another step in the journey and has no problem speeding someone else along theirs. She is at home aboard her ship and does not like to stay on land for very long. She has a loose sexual arrangement with her 1st mate, Dalthu and both of them frequently share quarters. Her lust sometimes gets the better of her, especially when drunk. She prefers the company of orcs or human women, and has yet to meet a human man that can satisfy her needs.

Backstory:

From an early age, Vylise had been around pirates and thieves. She was kidnapped by a group of pirates somewhere between Cryodil and the Summerset Isles at the age of 5. Over time, they became her family. They taught her about life at sea and how to be a good thief. Her family was the crew and her home was the ship. The pirates had several contacts along the southern reaches of Tamriel. When it came to offloading stolen goods, she had learned how to size up a merchant and tell if he was interested.

At the age of 14, she met an orc named Dalthu. They were both about the same age and became fast friends. Dalthu was part of an orc community living near the borders of Cyrodil and Valenwood. His clan would conduct raids on nearby villages. Vylise and Dalthu would stay up all night sharing stories of raids, loot, and kill counts. They both shared a desire to sail away on their own ship, to be the masters of their own destiny.

At the age of 16, while exploring a cave with an outlet to the sea, she found an old ship deserted in the cave. It had some Dwemer machines on it and looked to be in sad shape. She found a dead body laying under a small tent, next to it was a notebook detailing the repairs. It looked as if this one man had carried out all the repairs himself. At some point he must have fallen ill and passed quietly in his sleep. The next time she saw Dalthu, she told him about the ship and they hatched a plan to leave together in a couple of years when her family would come back this way.

At the age of 18, she left her pirate family. It was less heartfelt goodbye and more walk the plank and swim to shore. She arrived at Dalthu's clan and found him in bed with an orc woman. "Time to leave," she said. Dalthu was stunned but his wife jumped out of bed ready to gut the intruder with a dagger. Vylise separated her head from her shoulders. "Now, are you ready or not?" she said. Dalthu recovered from his stupor, grabbed his gear, and left by cover of night.

The two of them made the ship sea worthy, Vylise became the Captain and Dalthu became 1st mate. They named the ship the Darkwater. After hiring on a small crew, They made it to Skyrim's northern shore. The voyage had been long and they knew their was descent among the crew, so they killed them in their sleep and dumped the bodies. Once in Skyrim, they still needed to work on the ship and their interest in Dwemer technology intrigued young engineer named Elly. She agreed to join the crew and work on the ship.

Captain Vylise realized that currently Skyrim would be more trouble than it was worth. The dragonborn and High Queen ruled Skyrim ruthlessly. It had been more than 10 years since the dragons were chased away into other areas of Tamriel. She decided to go to High Rock. Once there, they found several jobs and easy marks. Over the next year, they picked up the rest of their crew, a battlemage named Rune, a thief named Fina, a former Imperial scout named Aika, a warrior named Ravik, and a swordswoman named Irina.

The next 5 years were the best any of them had seen. They raided villages along Tamriel's east coast and made a fortune.
