So let's talk Demise and Lorule.

What, more insane blathering that will never be canon? Why I never.

So I hate Demise. I also hate Skyward Sword. But at the same time, I need to deal with them, because goddamn if Nintendo will never actually retcon anything for the better. So, after the Golden Goddesses made their mighty creation Hyrule, they ditched the world and left it in the hands of Hylia. Of course, being shitty gods (like all of them it seems) they somehow made an error and let a being like Demise come into existence to threaten their creation. This is the canon.

Me? I personally think that Demise is, in reality, the Hylia analog of Lorule. Think about it, if you will; the answer the people of Lorule came up with in regards to fighting over the Triforce was to destroy it. This resulted in Lorule slowly collapsing. The means of moving between Hyrule and Lorule are fissures. What did Demise appear through? A fissure in the ground. What did he want? The Triforce.

Now, I know what you're saying; "the whole Lorule thing happens way in the future, you idiot!" To which I say that the Zelda franchise has machine based time gates and you can alter the flow of time by playing a song on an ocarina. The concept of time is loose in the Zelda franchise, so this is the least of the troubles with my idea.

So Demise, being the Hylia analog of Lorule, through his own failure, lack of caring or outright incompetence allowed the Triforce that he was in charge of guarding to be destroyed, thus rendering the whole of his world to be in danger of ceasing to exist. So, like Yuga would in the future of Lorule, or perhaps being the progenitor of the ability to do so, created a fissure into Hyrule and waged war to take their Triforce. With his defeat and sealing, it seemed as though Lorule would be lost, though because of more time travel madness and good ol' Ghirahim, Demise got another chance, screwed it up and then placed his curse on Link and Zelda. However, this curse also allowed for him to come back in the future, to get more chances to save Lorule.

So time marches on in Hyrule and finally we get Ganondorf, the projection of Demise's curse and perhaps actually Demise in the flesh. More importantly, Gangondorf becomes the one to hold the Triforce of Power, meaning that he's instantly a third of the way toward his goal. The games go on and sometimes Ganondorf, who becomes Ganon gets the Triforce, but he always is beaten, killed, sealed, etc. This is especially the case in Link to the Past, where he is sealed away with the Triforce, an act that seems to make it impossible for him to return to Lorule... if he even remembered his goal as Demise in the first place.

So Link Between Worlds comes up and, finally, the fissures open. Lorule is close to collapse. Ganon is dead but not forgotten. The analogs of the Triforce holders from Lorule are arrayed, as are Link and Zelda. Yuga, the analog of the Triforce of Power is too weak to make his desires come true and seeks Ganon, the incarnation of Power and the fallen god Demise to attain it. Hilda, the analog of Zelda is a fool who blindly believes that Yuga is loyal, and in the end gains the true Wisdom needed to rule her land. Ravio, the analog of Link is a coward who, through the game, proves his Courage, yet cannot take up arms because Ghirahim, analog to Fi and thus the Master Sword of Lorule, no longer exists after the death of Demise. With the fused Ganon and Yuga in Lorule, Demise has returned to his home world, and through the actions of the Lorule Triforce holder analogs, eventually Zelda wishes upon the Triforce of Hyrule to resurrect the Lorule Triforce. What was left of Ganon, who died in Lorule, is no longer able to return to Hyrule after the fissures closed (well, not actually impossible...), but that doesn't matter as the goal of Demise, getting a Triforce to save Lorule, has been fulfilled.

Thus, the Curse of Demise is broken, as there is no longer a need for it. Lorule is saved, nothing of Demise exists in Hyrule anymore.

In that timeline, anyway...
