A bit about spud
Well hello, figured I'd make a proper introduction to myself,
I'm usually known as Potato, Spud, Ainsey or Ainsey11, but most people call me any name they can think of and I'll usually respond,
There's not a huge amount to say really, I'll post plenty of updates over time, I'm sure, I'm a huge ass nerd at heart.
I work as a Sysadmin / Infrastructure engineer as a full time day job, a 50/50 mix of Linux (Debian Jessie) and Windows (Server 2012R2/16/Win7/10), responsible for some quite prestigious car manufacturers financial calculation systems (like when you want to finance a car). Pretty high pressure job, but it's quite cool at the same time.
In my spare time I'm a massive car enthusiast, albeit I have a habit of breaking cars quite quickly (I have no idea how I do it!) - Just recently added to my fleet has been another Mazda MX5 MK2(NB) 1.8 Sport, LSD, Slammed on it's arse and an induction kit. I occasionally help out at race weekends with my partner, transporting and fixing cars if they break etc, first time I ever went, I ended up re-wiring an entire engine bay ECU loom, and the time after that, replacing a snapped driveshaft in under an hour, so one of the girls racing could make qualifying, it's exciting stuff!
I do a huge amount of software dev in my own time, I have a few home servers, one is called Matrix, which I use to run my home automation platform (called datacrapper, because it was thought of with me sat on the toilet). This hooks into every device in my house and lets me control it from one automation panel, for stuff like my lighting, CCTV, temperature monitoring and other device monitoring for stats such as RAM etc. so far it's up to something like 50K lines of code, written in perl, php, python, bash, some links out to powershell on a windows script server, using mysql as a backend db, although I will probably move it to postgres at some point soon.
I also have a webserver infrastructure setup for customers that I do contract work for, primarily hosted in the uk, with backups out to Toronto, LA, Paris and Canada. All automated, monitored blah blah, you get the picture. Potato is a huge fuck off nerd xD
Alongside Matix, I have a 3d printer that I designed and built from scratch, the motors and extruder are all controlled from an Arduino board, with a RAMPS 1.4 controller on it. However the ramps software sucks, so I took 2 years and wrote my own from scratch which doesn't suck haha. I've also taught myself to weld in recent months, I'm alright at it, but won't win any awards anytime soon.
Basically, if it interests me, I'll explore it and try to learn more, BDSM is no exception to this, I had a curiosity about it, and knew my partner was big into it (before she became my partner) so I got talking and she let me try some ropework and things and I very soon realized, I am quite kinky xD I'm an ex scout, so ropework is my strong point, I'm sure she'll agree xD
I'll be lurking around on here every now and then, but I'm not hard to find, just google Ainsey11 and you'll find my github/ website etc. Don't be afraid to say hello!
Also some bonus photos for everyone -
This is my new mx5 next to my partners S15:
And it getting £2 of 99Ron petrol so I could get it to the shell garage to feed it VPower
One of my old MX5's - no engine in this one as it went bang, 4th piston vanished haha!

This is from when I took my partner and my mate out into the woods, (Tifa Lockheart has done a post about this weekend on her blog)
Some of my handiwork.... 4 dell FX630 converged chassis with 4 servers in each, and a tonne of Dell R series acting as cassandra db nodes
Aaaaaaaaaaand finally, one of my fav photos - when I used Tifa's butt as my desk when I worked from her house for a week, dare say it's hard to get any work done with that stunning distraction laid in front of me xD
