While distrusted by the Dawnguard leader Isran, Serana had no issues with destroying the degenerates of her kind. They were little more than animals and hunted as such. While they posed little threat to the general population as a whole, their existence was the cause of most people's fear of vampires.

Even the wiser and craftier ones, hiding among the population were still no more than criminals. While they would sometimes not kill while feeding many cared only that they were not caught but were amoral and inconsiderate of the mortals around them. Serana and Thana sought these out and hunted them down. Some they would lure into dark alleys or private rooms, out of the detection of witnesses. Thana would play the bait, either alone and acting fearful and hurt or as the mind controlled thrall of Serana who invited the target to share in a private meal.

Other times Serana would lure the prospective guest to a secret party or invite him on a hunt while Thana waited in the shadows. Caves and dens were infiltrated and the feral denizens dispatched with fire by bowshot, blade and magic.
