Progress Report 2

Hello, 

 

I originally didn't feel like making this post but with everything slowing down lately I think it is in order to let everybody know about the current progress.

This update is going to be bigger than any previous one, including multiple new quests and possibly the slavers headquarters. 

To give you some insight in what I've done so far here is a short summary of the quests in this update:

 

After securing the whiterun hold Slave Master Pike has decided the most important thing now is aquiring money. Lots of money. And that's going to be your new task. 

As a representative of the Slaver Organization (SO) you will be in charge of securing a few oppertunities to bring in a constant stream of coins into Pikes pockets. 

There are multiple quests that can be done in any order but they might offer different paths depending on which quests you already did.

 

1. Quest: Hostile Takeover

A group of woodcutters are trying to expand their own opperation to skyrim and unfortunately they choose the whiterun hold for this and could offer wood far cheaper than Hod from riverwood could. And he can't do anything about it, at least not by himself. 

That's where the player will come in, your task is to get rid of them without drawing any suspicion to riverwood of course.

 

2. Quest: Mine Slaver (Inspired by @wHOaMiEH

You remember the riverwood mine that Alvor send you to in return for his support? Well, Alvor needs more iron and the bandits have increased their price since then once more. Go to the mine and convince the bandits once more but they have a different plan of what to do with you ...

 

3. Quest: To kill a merchant (Unrelated to the "making money" task)

There's a drunk merchant in the New Gnisis Cornerclub (the dark elf inn in Windhelm) going on about slavery coming to Skyrim. And at the moment the SO is in no position to have people talk too much about rumors and the like. Ambarys Rendar is in favour of supporting Pike's cause and send a letter to him about it. 

And someone has to make sure he stops spreading his "rumors".

 

I hope it gave you some insight in what I'm working on, I've recently had a few negative events happening to me which made slowed the general progess a lot. I haven't work on it the entire week, up to today. I just couldn't bring myself to it. 

I can't say for sure when I'm going to be finished and release this update, so please don't ask. It will be done soon enough.

Love the ideas for the new quests. They sound far more immersive than the previous versions. Sorry to hear that your life hasn't been going that well. Hope things improve soon for you!

A free route is on the list for possible ideas. But this is also something where I have only a very limited idea of how I could implement it. 

Because I wouldn't want to have something like "pay x amount of septims every week and your free"

 

Right now I won't give an definitive yes or no. 

And especially with the very limited time I can dedicate to modding stuff not directly related to being a slave or slaver is very low on the list of priorities.

But should I get a good idea or someone suggests one I will be sure to add it eventually.

Something around setting the tax for the being free being so ridiculously priced that pc needs to "earn" her freedom through other ways(involving copious amounts of sex). That would introduce a wavering will towards being either a slaver or a slave(or being free, but having some sort of debuffs to skills etc...)? 

 

In any case take your time, SRR in itself was a project that lasted a long time, and nobody expects you to top that in a short span of time.

Hmm ... I'll keep it in mind as an idea.

 

Maybe doing something like in SexLab survival where you can do tasks for Pike in exchange for money/pay of your tax. 

The idea being something like every women not doing something else in the SO has to perform work dutie once per week. Like harvesting the farms or something. 

So you can either do these tasks the slavers give you or decide to join them. As either slave or slaver. 

 

Considering being fucked is easier than working yourself into your grave. Or if you got the strengh become a slaver and while escaping most duties having a bunch of backstabbers as your "friends".

 

However there should be options to remain free and outside of the SO, without having to do anything. Like "anti-slaver" outposts that act like small towns. Where you can find stuff like smiths, mages ect. but with other downsides. 

Also useful for slaves that made a run for it ... with downsides of course. We don't want to make it too easy.

This is super exciting. Thanks for the update.

 

Speaking of slow progress my work on decoupling the Enforcer/SES from Reloaded has been the same. I have a decent chunk of it working. But not the ever important sex and stripping. Just the enforceable locations and other core code.

I have changed tack many times while developing the next iteration. But there are more than a few features you might find useful in the future.

  • Mod event fires when entering and exiting city limits.
  • Easy API for external mods to specify if a city is enslaved.
  • When inside a city all 3D loaded actors are tagged with keywords. SES_NPC_Horny is added to all horny men in the area. SES_NPC_Female_Slave to female slaves. SES_NPC_Sexable to those that are available for sex scenes (i.e. not in a different scene or prohibited from sex in the player settings) A bunch of other keywords too. This makes it incredibly easy to get relevant actors either for quest aliases or using PO3's Papyrus function FindAllReferencesWithKeyword().
  • I currently have each city with its own slavery stage that progresses. External mods can lock or adjust this stage. I hope to keep these stages intact in the final release. But if they prove a pain to account for then I will convert it to a slavery on/off switch for a city.
  • I added the smaller towns and villages as enslavable. You can easily customize the list of enslavable locations using a .json file.

Best of all it is faster than ever. There is no more polling. Almost everything has registered for an event that it listens for. Which makes it use less resources and respond faster to changes.

That sounds amazing. I'm gonna work on making this mod compatible with Enforcers in the next update. 

 

As said, development is super slow at the moment. Whenever I think I found some free time to continue life comes along and gives me more crap to do that requires my immidiate attention.

It's good to hear that other mods are making progress. I've sadly didn't have the time to follow your project these last few weeks. 

 

But the features already look promising and I believe I already got a good idea of what to do. 

 

Just as a quick question, how does the mod determine which npcs get which keyword?

  • Generic Keywords like Male and Female get applied to everyone except prohibited races. Obviously no children. But user can also specify a few additional ones like the Elder (old people) race or Beast races.
  • Sexable has a lot of logic behind it. If you have played SES then it uses similar logic to temporarily exclude NPCs from sex. This prevents interrupting player conversations or an ongoing scene or quest. Those interruptions were peoples main complaint about Reloaded "conflicting" with other mods and quests.
    • Removed from people currently having sex.
    • Removed from the player's dialogue target.
    • Actors locked in full chastity gear can't have sex.
    • Any NPC in a scene and currently running a package from that scene's quest.
  • Horny gets applies to men whose arousal level is above the user defined threshold. Also preserves the SES logic for reducing the horniness of male followers with low confidence.
  • Some keywords are associated with factions or a faction like state such as IsPlayerTeammate(): Follower, Slaver, Guard, and SlaverGateGuard.
  • Free and Slave get applied to females using the same logic as SES. It is very user configurable. Default settings will enslave roughly half the women in most cities. The poor half.

I forgot to mention something. I would hold off on any integration work until v2 of my mod is released. That is the version that delivers all of the stuff I mentioned before. The current v1 is very much integrated into Reloaded. And does not have an API for other mods to access. The only API available in v1 is for checking what version of my mod is installed.

Yes, I know I haven't written anything in a long time but work is continuing. 

I want to expand the story further before releasing another update.
