Personality: Melissa is known to be a very pretty woman on the outside with an alluring charm to her. However, Melissa is as dangerous as she is beautiful as she is associated with a secretive assassin guild who kills without question as only the gold matters. Melissa uses her womanly charm and seduction to get whatever she wants, most notably to get an assassination contract done with. Melissa’s charisma, beauty and pretty looks greatly helps in making things easy for her. However, should her womanly charms fail, then Melissa can fall back to her skill with a bow as well as deadly force to get the job done. She is willing to dirty her hands in the name of the Dark Brotherhood as well as put gold in her coffers.

Melissa cares little for who she kills, not asking any questions with the exception on how to best to go on about on the job. She has killed for personal reasons in the past before. (Grelod the Kind)

Melissa has a soft spot  for children and she'll regularly make stops to the Honorfall Orphanage. As for other soft spots, she's encouraged Svana Far-Shield to be more assertive and to stand up for herself and not take any shit from any rowdy men at Haelga's Bunk Housel. As for the Marks of Dibella, she tells Svana to just leave Healga alone and let the woman have fun.

As the new Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, she'll make it very clear to her former orphanage mate, Aventus Aretino that you must be willing to get your hands dirty with blood, and that no target is innocent. 

Despite having the Night Mother in her head, she kinda takes after Nazir. Just get the damn contracts done. Although she more prefers to be out in the field rather than managing the internal affairs of the Dark Brotherhood once the Dawnstar Sanctuary is the new home of the Dark Brotherhood. Speaking of which, torture does not produce much of anything and having screams echo in the air of your own home is not fun. 

Aventus, we've been through some things together at Grelod's orphanage. But are you sure you want to dedicate the rest of your life to the Dark Brotherhood?

Bio (before 17th of Last Seed, 201 4E: 
 

On the 17th of Last Seed, 4E 183, Melissa was born in Skyrim, hailing from The Rift to two Imperial parents. From a very young age, Melissa's parents were killed in an accident, causing Melissa to be orphaned. However, she would be taken to the so called Honorfall Orphanage where she would experience the kindness of one Grelod The Kind. Literally

Yep. If someone asked Melissa Albius what growing up at Honorfall was like, she'd sarcastically tell you its a great place to grow up. But seriously, its a horrible place. The only kind person was a woman named Constance who was the headmistress' assistant. 

Anyways the long years would come and go and eventually near the end of her release as she was nearing eighteen, she became acquainted with Aventus Aretino for a very short time. Of course, it wasn't a very good day at the Honorfall Orphanage when that kid, Aventus managed to escape. Still, her own release when she became eighteen was nearing and despite the horrors of the real world just on the horizon, Melissa would be relieved to see her release happen.

Eventually weeks pass and Melissa Albius is now an adult. Eighteen years old. Released from Honorfall Orphanage with just 50 gold to her name. Although Melissa is glad she doesn't have to live under that hag, Grelod, she wonders, what to do in this cruel world? Apparently Ulfric Stormcloak shouted the High King of Skyrim apart and starts a literal war with the Imperial Legion but not that she cares about the Legion or the Rebellion. All that matters is find a job and putting money into her pocket. 

Prior to the afternoon, Melissa applied to serve tables at the Bee and Barb although Keerava suggested that Melissa put on a skimpy tavern wench outfit and well serve customers their other needs. Melissa knew what that meant but stuck to serving tables. Although she made a couple hundred for the day in total which was barely enough for a three day stay at the inn. Throughout the evening and night, Melissa was groped and harrassed by several rowdy patrons and some patrons even asked for sex outright as Melissa continued to wait on tables. 

On the day of the 18th of Last Seed, Melissa contemplated on various happenings, including her stay as a barmaid. Well she wasn't sure how much adventurers made taking up bounties on bandits but she had a feeling that if one didn't want to risk life and limb, perhaps selling her body was a more lucrative but indecent alternative.

And so, on the evening of the 18th of Last Seed, Melissa returned the Bee and Barb and took Keerava's offer of working as a prostitute at her Inn. Of course there were two catches:

1. There were other prostitutes working so there was competition

2: Keerava and any other Innkeepers will take an 80% cut of whatever each working girl earns. Their establishment and all.

Melissa had several things going for her. One is her uncanny natural charm, and two, her beautiful face, long legs, big butt and alluring hourglass figure. These elements won Meliisa many clients and at the end of the night which was at two at night, Melissa had gotten TWELVE clients on her first day working as a prostitute.  Not bad. And even after Keerava got her eighty percent cut, Melissa had over six hundred septims in her pocket. Still a tough night as things got rough several times. These customers outright stated that they wanted to "take Melissa somewhere hidden and fuck her raw while she begged for mercy".

Eventually Melissa would stay in the Bee and Barb for a week or two, getting popular enough that people that Melissa would do home deliveries. Even as the war between the Stormcloak Rebellion and the Imperial Legion raged on, Melissa was sent on her fourth day as a working girl to head on over the the Imperial Camp located in Ivarstead and well... service the camp with another co-worker of hers. Even the co-worker proposed some sort of bet, something about being the first one to get together with a soldier and Melissa won that.

Eventually three weeks passed and Melissa decided to take a break for a while. With the funds, she procured a package of adventuring gear as well as some potions, plus she had a knack for mixing ingredients in a pot together before she paid for a carriage to head for Windhelm. She wanted to check in on Aventus Aretino, see how the young boy was doing. Prior to his escape from Honorfall Orphanage, Melissa was privy to the young master's plans of summoning some Dark Brotherhood to kill Grelod the Kind. Didn't happen yet as soon as she was released from the orphanage.

After arriving in Windhelm, she saw a scene of a Nord harassing some Dark Elf woman. Something about contributing to the Stormcloak cause, Imperial spies and freeloading. Well, as an Imperial, it was best she get done with her business. As the Dark Elf woman said, the war wasn't her fight. She needed to check in on Aventus Aretino.

Upon arriving, well for the house of a noble clan, the lock was surprisingly easy to pick, Melissa wondered what that... effigy was. She picked up a book after Aretino explained that no one had answered his call, she read through the book thoroughly.

"Sweet Mother, sweet Mother, send your child unto me, for the sins of the unworthy must be baptized in blood and fear."

Aretino and Melissa part ways before the girl makes her way over to Riften. Creating a makeshift cowl to hide her face, she enters Honorfall Orphanage only to see the front hall empty. Okay, everything's good, with Grelod making her speech and all. Time to put the plan into motion.

Melissa quietly drew her bow and before long, she let loose an arrow from a darkened corner from the room as Grelod was stuck deep in the throat, causing the old hag to clutch her throat as she choked on her own blood. Melissa then quietly made her exit out of that place and quickly escaped as it seemed nobody was on to her. She took a carriage back to Windhelm to report on Grelod the Kind's death to Aventus. 

Two days later, Melissa awoke in some dark cabin, only for an assassin from the Dark brotherhood. She was captured, told she had stolen a kill from the Dark Brotherhood.

Melissa: "Yeah, Grelod did have it coming. I grew up in the orphanage you know. My friend was growing impatient and I felt that when he went through all the trouble of forming that effigy and chanting those words, I felt that Grelod needed to die," the Imperial said  to Astrid.

Regardless, Melissa was told to kill one of these three people. She looked over and did some investigating, being persuasive about which person would have said contract on them. Of course she killed Vasha first. Well, she could understand why the "defiler of daughters" would have a hit on them. Probably multiple clients numbering in the hundreds. And that woman... boy did she have a mouth on her. And that mercenary, well for a guy called "Fultheim the fearless" he was quite scared. 

Regardless, Melissa felled all three captives. When questioned by Astrid, Melissa responded

"You kidnapped those three people. One of them was going to squeal and both of us would be in trouble. Big trouble." said Melissa

Anyways, Astrid offers Melissa a spot in the Dark Brotherhood and Melissa accepts. Astrid knows about Melissa's day job and states that the Dark Brotherhood is a diverse group of killers with a varied skillset. Someone specializing in honey traps. And perhaps having someone on the outside gathering information would be great to have as well.

And so, Melissa makes her way to the Falkreath Sanctuary, beginning her new life as a Dark Brotherhood assassin. Even as a Dark Brotherhood Assassin, she'll regularly work at Inns, making herself useful as a prostitute. After all, patrons, especially drunk just spit out stuff they aren't supposed to and if it relates to rumors of a Black Sacrament, Melissa will glady report this to the Dark Brotherhood and take up these contracts herself. Even as a secretive Dark Brotherhood assassin, her outside life as a prostitute is very helpful to get close and in bed with one of the targets and then... knife in the throat.
