Summer 1946

 

Upon his return from Sulani, Vito continues his dealings with the Simkuza.  Monthly shipments are transported to the Strangerville border, where Joe and his crew retrieve it so that it can be marked for distribution.

 

Joe: "This is a far cry from those vans we used to use."

 

Max: "This is the largest shipment yet.  Pretty soon we'll be needing boats to haul this stuff."

 

 

Unhappy with their current arrangement, Vito and Wei Chen, the right-hand man of Simkuza Boss, David Wa-Lin Po, meet with their Selvadoradian partners to discuss a "new deal".  

Vito stares intently, studying his business partners while they discuss the parameters of a potential "new deal".

 

 

One Month Later

Members of Joe's crew go to Strangerville to pick up the latest shipment

 

 

 

- "What the fuck, Vito!?" Two of my guys get popped and you don't want to retaliate?

 

 

Vito: "I don't want to give the Simkuza or the Selvadoradans an excuse to continue fighting."

 

 

Joe: My guys were ambushed by both the SImkuza and the Selvadoradans.  Worse, when they searched the truck, it was empty!  That Uncle Po - he's in cahoot with those burnt motherfuckers.

 

Vito: It will be handled when it's time, Joe.  I want no acts of vengeance right now.

 

Joe: (Defiantly) I didn't realize you were such a Jap lover.

 

 

(stands up sternly)

 

 

Vito: Joe, I know that you want revenge.  Remember what we went through?  It will come when the time is right. 

 

We are still trying to get things set up - with the police, with the Simkuza.  I want the Simkuza to be absolutely confident in our friendship so, for now, be patient.  Enjoy the money and go along with what's about to happen.

 

Joe: (reluctantly agrees)
