Yep another entry where I'm leading with a screenshot from my Chester save on Football Manager and this time it's my current first choice striker. I mentioned in the last entry talking about this Chester game (found here) I'm challenging myself to keep the same group of players together, to elaborate more on that it's the group of players that made up my starting 11 at the end of my 3rd season (because that's when I managed to offload the players who were over 25) but this doesn't mean they can't drop out of the starting 11 as this player would obviously not have been in that starting lineup (I'm now in my 9th season) at that time or if he was he'd be a hell of a lot older than 20. But that's not what I want to talk about here, what I want to talk about are his stats and quite frankly the boy's a monster. Obviously he has some downsides to his overall game for the role I want him playing (that of an advanced forward) being he has fairly poor passing (I'd say it's average) and a fairly poor work rate (which is offset by his good off the ball movement and anticipation) on top of his pace and stamina being just above average (although that pace doesn't matter when he can accelerate to his top speed quickly due to his high acceleration) but that doesn't really matter as Thierry Henry was the last truly perfect striker, not even Robert Lewandowski (the current best striker in the world) or Erling Braut Haaland (the current best young striker in the world) have all the traits to make them perfect strikers and that leads me onto young Dean Armstrong here, he has 40 goals and 7 assists in all competitions (36 goals in the league alone, 21 more than the second highest scorer) for the current season and I've just gotten through the January window (which is around the midpoint of the season) and that's because of the stats highlighted in green, these are the stats that are most preferable for an Advanced Forward and as you can see the lowest of them is at 16, this means he's the best striker in the world in my game and the best part? I got him for £22million from Hibs and it only took him 3 seasons to completely displace my original first choice striker and captain (and Chester legend.) But that's one of the things I love about these games, despite all my griping about them, unearthing a gem like this, getting him for a low fee and then watching as he proceeds to dominate the game. This has happened to me just once before and the player I unearthed was nowhere as good as this one.

Just a short entry for today and really it's an excuse to was lyrical about a player in my FM save. I do plan on uploading the story I'm working on but I want that to have its own entry so I can explain the world I created as well.
