When I woke up, my arms and legs were bound together behind me and a log gag was pressed between my teeth. I felt a thrill of contradicting emotions.

The first was fear. I hadn't tasted the whip in months. I was not looking forward to its sting.

The second, and stronger, was shame; clearly I had done something very wrong. It had been a very long time since my master had bound me so restrictively. I must have overslept! My poor master! No wonder he was punishing me! I deserved it!

The third - and overwhelming - emotion was relief. The dragon attack had been a bad dream. My master was alive, as was his son. I nearly wept with joy.

Footsteps approached, and I stilled myself, subservient. But the feet that stopped in front of me were not wearing boots - or anything else, for that matter - and were bright red. I frowned at them, then tilted my head upwards. The red continued. Red legs, large red engorged penis, red chest, red head. The hell?

The red man knelt and considered me with a wry expression. "I was not planning on bringing you here quite so soon."

He gave off a peculiar heat, and smelled vaguely of roses. For some reason my body started feeling aroused, quite despite itself.

"Put yourself in a state, didn't you?" He laughed and waved a hand. My bindings disappeared, and my arms and legs collapsed, aching, to the ground. My jaw snapped shut on my tongue, and I let out an involuntary yelp, then cowered as I waited for him to hit me for making noise.

The red man laughed again. "That guy really had you trained, didn't he? Well, don't worry - I'm not really into the whole slavery thing. That's more Molly's department. Here, have a drink." He proceeded to pull a large mug from...somewhere - I don't know where; it just appeared - and took a huge swig. Despite his words, he did not actually give me any. After downing the drink and tossing the mug away, he stood and gestured. "C'mon! The party's this way!"

I lifted myself to shaky legs and followed him down a pebbled path. It was only after I had taken a few steps that I noticed my surroundings. It was like a small park. A stream bubbled under a bridge, trees swayed with peaceful abandon, even though there was no wind. But the sky above was an explosion of stars and galaxies and...and...light and darkness, and...I don't even know how to describe it. It's almost worth going there for the view alone.

Almost.

Dotted around the idyllic landscape of the park were figures which, despite the cacophony of light above, were dimly lit. Upon closer inspection, which I got because we passed close to several of them, the figures turned out to be people, men and women, stuck in various instruments of captivity and torture. Some were in cages, some hung by their arms by chains that seemed to come from the sky. One lay quietly, but clearly alive, in a boiling cauldron of some sort of dark liquid. We're not in Kans...

"Oh, don't use that line." The red man grinned back at me as he walked. "It's rather cliché at this point, don't you think?"

"What?!" The word popped from my mouth without thought, and I immediately dropped to my knees in submission for daring to speak.

"Oh, stop that already. Your master is dead. Remember? Large dragon? Fire? 'Ow, that hurts?'"

I risked a glance upward to see him laughing at me.

"I do want you to serve me, it is true, but first you have to stop serving that guy. I'm not picking up some Nord's sloppy seconds."

I just shook my head, unwilling to believe. He frowned and turned fully toward me. My libido spiked again as he approached - I've never felt so turned on in my life.

"I knew it was too soon. Ah well. Next time!" He put his face right in front of mine and yelled, "WAKE UP!" and then clapped his hands with a sound like thunder.

Dappled sunlight showed through the leaves of the trees above me. A fresh breeze brushed across my face, making a loose strand of hair tickle my cheek. I felt warm and whole, but tired and parched. I wondered at the strange dream I had just had. They say everyone you see in a dream is someone you have met in real life, that dreams can't imagine new people. I don't know how they could possibly know that, but it seemed pretty clear they were wrong; I would remember meeting large, bright red guys. Just thinking about him made me feel aroused again. I heard a clinking sound and turned my head to the right. A man in a yellow robe was sitting by a small fire fiddling with something. He glanced up as he spotted my movement and smiled.

"Oh good, you're awake. I was not certain you would make it." He shifted a bit and took my arm, then pressed his finger against my wrist. "Strong pulse. Good complexion. Normal breathing. I must say, this is a relief." He briefly touched the iron collar that still hung around my neck. "I'm sorry, I tried, but I could not get that off. My order detests slavery, and we free as many as we can, but the lock on your collar is rusted shut. You'll have to find a good blacksmith."

I opened parched lips. "M...my baby?"

He seemed startled. "Baby? There wasn't...oh, yes. I apologize. Your child was stillborn. I had to bury the body so the wolves would not get it. I will show you where when you are stronger."

I just nodded and closed my eyes. Light tears slid down my temples, but I made no motion to wipe them away. After some time I heard the man shift away and I fell into a dreamless sleep.

Don't feed the bastards - they'll just want more

DeepBlueFrog actually fixed the thing where Sanguine says, "Have a drink" and then doesn't give you a drink but I'm keeping it this way. Much funnier. XD
