Ivy Goes to Nuka World

When Ivy requests players to accompany her on what seems like a simple fetch quest inside Nuka World, they quickly learn this might be one of the most important and pivotal moments in Ivy's life.

"Ivy goes to Nuka World" is the final affinity quest for Ivy, wrapping up her personal story. Will you be able to help her set things right? Or will you fail and face the consequences?
Ivy 6.0 will be released on 30 December 2021.

Tips & Tricks for playing Ivy Goes To NukaWorld

Unlike the previous entries in Ivy's affinity quests, Ivy goes to NukaWorld knows several different endings (5 to be exact). If you have listened to Ivy up to that point, it should be 'easy' to know which steps to take (e.g. what to say to Ivy) in order for her final quest to have a successful ending, yet.. we aren't all psychologists. For this reason I will try to give you some gameplay tips on how to approach IGTN best below. I will try to clearly mark spoilers.

During testing, IGTN was compatible with all the well-known mods that overhaul NukaWorld.

Spoiler Free Tips

Tip 1: Make a hard save when the pop in the screen tells you to do so.

Ivy Goes to Nukaworld is completely separate from the base DLC's. Ivy will engage in dialogue for the base quests, but her own affinity quest is not related to the raiders in NukaWorld, or how you conduct yourself while there. Ivy has often spoken about the things she finds important. She does not care how you treat the world as long as you treat her right.

Remember: Gas-lighting is a thing.. so is encouraging violence and mistrust in others.

Things like that might lead to unwanted outcomes.

Spoiler Filled Tips

Read these if you tried the quest, had a bad ending, and for the life of you, you don't know why.

Spoiler

This is not the player's quest, but it is Ivy's quest. It's not up to the player to tell Ivy what to do, or how to approach this. It is not up to the player to decide how this quest ends, whether Stein lives or dies. This is not the player's conundrum and life challenge.. It is up to Ivy. The only role the player has is to be there for Ivy, support her unconditionally and when the time comes, jump into her mind once again to break the firewalls present that block her psyche from fully developing. In other words.. 'always choose the 'positive' response' (e.g. 444444444)

Steins Construct

Weapons are useless in this virtual environment. The key to beating this map is patience and observation. Things to remember:

- Stein's Construct is increasingly difficult depending on your game difficulty settings.

- Avoiding the lights is KEY. (THAT INCLUDES YOUR PIPBOY LIGHT!!!

- In Survival difficulty you will have almost no 'grace' period, once the light catches you. In easy mode, you can stay in the light for several seconds before agents of Stein catch you.

- Stay in either fully dark areas or stay close to Debby's candles for protection.

- Find and read all the notes thoroughly. THEY ARE KEY TO FINISHING THE MAP AND TO OPEN UP DIALOGUE CHOICES WHEN ENGAGING WITH THE FIREWALL AGENTS.

- This area is intended to be scary and make players feel helpless. You cannot engage and fight enemies, but it is not difficult per se. Be aware of your surroundings and make sure learn the patterns of the moving lights.

- If all else fails, watch the complete playthrough of this map.

- There is a root-access terminal inside Stein's Construct. Be careful with that. It will show you Ivy's emotional and biological state, which will indicate what type of ending you can expect later on.

Same here. I tried to force start quest with console but nope... This is weird coz my first run with Ivy worked fine. In this one all was fine, all quests started properly but nuka world one...

I tried rdf command to reset the dialogue of Ivy but she still saying: "I want to talk to you about Nuka World"...

If I find something I tell you

Same here today  After a couple of hours  and  a little reading in the mods controler tap,e i figuered out that some of my other mods could cause the issue. Could be UnlimitedFollowersFramework... So kicked it out. Also  kicked Ivys Nuka mod and made a save. Then found out that I did not properly complete "Robotic Assimilation". I collected all of Mercy´s notes, but didnot read the last ones properly. After reading each one of them I listend to her and the quest came to an end. I then saved my game and added the Ivys Nuka World mod . After that he quest was  triggerd properly.

I hope this could help.

So maybe this will help someone else that is stuck with " I'd like to talk to you about nuka world " and repeat, never actually starting the quest. I didn't read anything to avoid spoilers... I ran the entire nukaworld questline, found all of Stein's tapes, and Stein himself. Realizing I wasn't getting anywhere, I searched here. I was relieved to read that it was Ivy herself that would start the quest, and all these things I found would wait for her. So I left nukaworld, avoiding more spoilers, I played 12 hours before I got the now dreaded line of "I'd like to talk to you about nuka world ". I tried mod health and check, all clear. Soft reset, and then hard reset... still no advancement. Thankfully the CompanionIvy_nuka6.7z is seperate from the main file. I deleted the mod and archive. Loaded the game and played a few minutes, hardsave and closed the game. Reinstalled CompanionIvyNuka6.7z and a few minutes after the game loaded, she said the line and the quest actually started. I hope this helps someone.

I'm having the same bug getting this to start. Ivy keeps repeating "I want to talk to you about Nuka World," but never does. I read all the journal notes as I got them.

Disable the NW esp plugin. Load your game, ignore the warning. Travel to a new location, save the game. Exit the game, re-enable the plugin, load the game. That should fix it.

Thank you I will give that a try. I tried but my MOD Organizer isn't managing any of the DLC's they show up in the list but say they are unmanaged.  I know that has to do with my switch from NMM to Vortex (which was a disaster) to MOD Organizer. I searched through Steam and couldn't find a way to disable there either. I'll just switch to one of the stock companions for awhile and come back to her and see if it fixes itself. If not after I complete this game I'll clean up my MODs and try again with a new game.

Thank you Reginald I misunderstood what you were telling me, I thought you meant the Nuka World DLC but you meant the Companion_Ivy Nuka_World ESP. Thank you for clarifying that for me. It's all fixed now. Thank you again.

her backstory seems interesting but is confusing, i understood deborah has been put in a synth body, but why stein want to save her so bad who is she really to him ? Who is she really in the first place, why stein doesn't have the same voice ? i'm not english native and thought the companion was the best ever made. i have the big picture but some details evade me. If someone can shed light or do a quick summary on what is what, it'll be nice (in hidden spoilers of :)) Thanks so much for this mod.

Hi! I don't know if someone can help me, but I get the "End Sinister" quest, and nothing happens. I'm stuck because I can't move, the camera won't let me even turn my head, I'm just watching up front and Stein is walking all around me. No sign of Ivy, Deborah, no one, just me standing there without being able to move, and Stein walking all around doing pretty much the same. I've waited for like 10-15 minutes but nothing happens, it's like my camera was stuck. I tried going to a previous save of me inside of the construct site, nothing, I was still stuck outside, I tried reloading and nothing happened, so I can't get out of Stein's Hideout, I can't move, Ivy is nowhere to be seen and I can't continue the game neither. If someone can help me I'll appreciated a lot

Yes. There are 5 endings. 1 good one. And 4 bad ones.

If you can't get to the good ending through dialogue choices, you can get all robotics and science! perks, after which you can find a root terminal inside Steins Construct where you 'hack' a good ending.

Useing follower mods or multi follower mods do play havic with diferant aspects of Ivy in unpredictable ways.  When I play Ivy, I do not use other player companion mods or multiple player mods.  There are a few other mods that do not play nice as well but they are usualy the oldest of mods that are no longer suported.  There are many popular follower mods that run just jine and do not afect Ivy.  I personaly like to play Ivy alone as I do with other player folower mods.  I have many play threws.  Ivy is a great work of art!

Even though I'm heartless and have no real feelings, this made me feel things.

Alright, I give up and I feel stupid, and I can't find anything anywhere about this sooo:

I've seen that Ivy has Nuka World content, I have it downloaded, installed and enabled, and did her HyperCombat quest and Into the Deep. However, I already did some Nuka World quests, all the way up until 'Home Sweet Home'.
Have I screwed up in doing so?

(Also, In case I did screw up and have to start a new save, What are some things to know on how to NOT break Ivy's quests? I.E: Don't go to Nuka world before ___ Or something like 'Don't start this quest before this, or go here before that')

(Edit: Also Also, are there any quests for Ivy I should be aware of? like, I did the HyperCombat + Into the Deep, but are there more then that to know for the future?)

Yes there are more quests. You didn't screw it up. Check this blog for the quests, their progression, etc.. Best not to do too much in NW now though until Ivy's quests kick off. I didn't know that was there, thank you and also good to know for the future, I thank you very much, and also, so far the Ivy mod has been one of if not Thee greatest companion mod I've ever had the pleasure of playing with on, and not even just to fallout 4, but I can also say for every other game I've played. 100/100 Wonderful work!
