Labyrinth Designs: *Title Redacted*

So, after my most recent entry, there was a lot of confusion around what was going on in the story and where people could help out!  I hope this entry sheds light into Labyrinth Designs’ *ahem* Legitimate Business’s Issues and how you, the valued consultants, can help them out of their predicament.

Side Note:  This has got to be the least sexy entry I’ve ever created. The next one will be better!

oh my, I understand now, but let's clear it up anyway.
So you asking us to create an encounter sheet with events like that? And the more complicated the events (in terms of structure and for passing) the better, right? But if I understood correctly, they still should not be completely dishonest(passable), right?
UPD: thats a great idea! ^_^

You're understanding correctly.  The most important things is to have fun!  If that's making a ton of complex encounters, go nuts!  If that's providing one simple encounter, that's good too!

Do try to make them passable.  It's Adventurer Management, not Adventurer Extermination.  ;)

Well the list of candidates applying for a personal meeting with Urunach was growing thin anyway, so...

Anyway, if I understood well the key points are to create somewhat randomized encounters, which are supposed not to be too lethal, and if possible featuring some bits of sexiness. I've asked the Marsoric sisters to design encounters, here are their answers of the two who were the least busy :

MALICIA

The Very Truth or Dare game

Spoiler

The Very Truth or Dare game

It's very simple. The gal or guy is very locked in a very scary place, just like Nora's house, you see ? But there are tiny magic dolls (like this -> latest?cb=20121004224802) in each room, who ask you :

  • either very interesting questions (like if they had boobies surgery, or if they always use make-up to look better, of what's their honey-honey secret , you know ?).
  • or to very dare to do difficult things (like not to laugh while being tickled with a feather, or to steal Nora's shoes while she's very asleep, or to convince Mr Gro-shub to lend a book to someone very unknown, or to go buy some croissants naked, uh).
  • You can only ask for two Very Truths in a row, if you did ask twice for those then it must be a Dare next.
  • The questions and dares very depend on the room where you are : if you're very unlucky (1-2) it's Nora's room, 3-4 it's the torture room, 6-7 Gro-Shub (who's in the guest room), and so on. If you're very lucky (19-20) you get Amelie's room.
  • If you're very bad and fail like a poo on your Dare, or try lying on a Very Truth, the dolls do take one thing of your stuff, and replace if with sleeping gear (like pajamas or nightcaps, you see ?). :classic_excl: And you won't get it back until you very write a letter to me before I sell it. :classic_sleepy:
  • If you're very good and very truthful three times in a row, they'll kiss you on the cheek and you can get out of Nora's house. :star:

TRYADE

Atalanta race

Spoiler

Atalanta race

So you want to make trials only to see women naked ? And you're asking ME to help you ? Get off your drugs, dude ! Even if... I've got an idea which could be interesting. I like sport, and I'm not afraid of showing myself. But I don't want that to be up to others. So, here's the trial :

  • The encounter takes place outdoors, or in a recreated outdoors place, such as the Forgotten Vale.
  • The objective is to be the first one to arrive to the top of the vale, starting from the exit of the Darkfall passage.
  • Your opponent depends on your luck with the dice : 18-20 it's a deer, 13-18 it's a Vale Sabercat, 7-13 it's a nymph, 1-6 it's another of the adventurers completing the labyrinth. Even if you get a 1, consider yourself lucky as neither Serana nor me do have time for this.
  • I do recall having killed a bunch of falmers out there with Serana, so there shouldn't be too much of them. But there could still be some, there are the animals, and we didn't get close to the frostgiants so you should be prepared either to defend yourself either to outrun your pursuers. You probably won't have enough stamina to outrun them all in a row, so I'd advice to take at least one weapon with you.
  • Now, and that's were choices matter, each element of gear you'll take will slow you down : each weapon, each part of armor. Heavy armor do weight more than light, two handed weapons more than one handed. So while they'll make encounters easier to manage, taking them all with you will probably slow you too much to keep-up with your opponent. Clothes do weight something as well. That's were the nerdy wizards will start drooling, as they'll start thinking you could take nothing at all and go running breasts bouncing in the air like Eve. But it depends on your opponent, if she or he is in full heavy armor, you could do that as well. You cannot negotiate with him or her before hand, but you'll have 15' to prepare with he or she at twenty meters, so you'll be able to match your choices. Or you could choose to go lighter than him/her. It's up to you and your stamina, but if I were in your place, I'd take a dagger, my shied, my bra, my pants and light boots. The good thing is that you're in control.
  • Your opponent could choose to fight you to ensure victory, anything goes. No killing between contenders is the sole rule.
  • You'll both be provided a recall ring in case things would go ugly. So if you think you're going to end as adventurer paté under a giant's club, or if you're being outrunned by a pack of sabercats, recall and you'll be teleported at the starting point instantly.
  • The winner can choose one of the items of the loser, and is granted passage to the next trial. The loser can restarts the race against another opponent, or forfeit.  In that case he/she'll lose all of his/her item to the Vale, and will have to choose another trial instead.

Those are some great encounters up there!  I could probably write a story around just one of these alone!  Thanks Marsoric Sisters!

I like the idea of possessed dolls forcing you to play a game of truth or dare with consequences.  Sounds like something straight out of a horror movie!

I'm curious about the Atalanta Race, how would the movement work?  Do you roll to see how far you go in one turn then subtract your total gear pieces from your roll?

I'm curious about the Atalanta Race, how would the movement work?  Do you roll to see how far you go in one turn then subtract your total gear pieces from your roll?

According to Tryade the movement isn't randomness related, it's related to the character's strength, stamina, and weight/equipment chosen at the start of the race. Which means that high stamina characters with muscular legs, and the lighter equipment will have an advantage. But if one of the contestants sees animals/monsters he/she thinks can't defeat reasonably, there's still the option to flee/outrun him, which is why Tryade advises to choose minimal gear regarding armor.

The only random part (where you roll the dice) is your opponent at the stat of the race and in someway your encounters (though you don't roll a D20 for it). And actually, it's debatable if 7-13 isn't worse than 1-6, as you'll be opposed to a nymph, which is by definition light on her feet, has no problems with animals, and has nearly no gear. Facing another adventurer can only get worse 'cause of the possibility of the adventurer choosing to break your legs instead of playing fair.

Just try to make the race ingame with one of your characters, you'll have an idea of what she will encounter on her road. Disable most of the falmers though (like 9/10), they are supposed to have been wiped out by Tryade's group.

Also, you only lose one piece of gear at the end of the race, if you lost. That's where it gets interesting, as the less gear/weight you take for the race itself, the more likely you are to recover it at the end.

?  You know, that's actually not that hard to do ingame. A couple of details are a bit problematic, but the idea would work pretty well overhaul.

Anyways love your creativity!

@djregs Very curious to see where this is going, I like the idea a lot.

What I like about @Tirloque's suggestions is that they're all very do able.  I might not be able to fully realize them, but you can do them in-game without too many mods!

I wonder what ideas you might have @Alter Native!

Well, what's the point of suggesting something if it's not doable ?

Regarding the details of Malicia's truth or dare, the most obvious obstacle is representing Nora in case one of the challenges takes place in her room. But having her absent, or appearing only as a vanishing silhouette, or a sleeping shape could do the trick ; unless DJregs and you have some undisclosed arrangements. ^^

Glad you liked the idea though, Nora's figure has struck quite strongly my associate, but I was unsure or your reaction.

Strip Poker with an insane Demi-God seems fun.  The biggest issue would be getting them to show up!  And of course it couldn't JUST be strip poker... there'd have to be something bigger on the line somewhere... like the universe's cheese.

NOPE!  No Undisclosed agreements here!  Definitely nothing to see... nope

Also, Malicia!  Truth or dare with possessed dolls is such a delightfully evil idea!  You should be in the dungeon business!

Yes, I noticed, putting her bedroom at 1-2 and the torture chamber at 3-4.

Getting who to show up? Not a problem for Sheogorath, he could just send his son anywhere fast in an instant if need be and Sheogorath didn't want strip poker that was just a suggestion Jay-omm had. Sheogorath would find a way to do something behind his back like say oh we won't show and show up without Jay-omm. Or plot with the Sheogorath of your world. Maybe cover your girls in hot warm.... CHEESE!

Bridge.png.42b89876dd54ba4847ded9831856b816.png

Spoiler

Description: maybe heels were not the best choice of shoes for adventure, because the bridge is narrow and the gusts of wind are strong.
Action: Try to cross the bridge without falling. (+3 bonus to roll for hero with high agility)
Roll a D20 to pass.
20-16 - Style and grace in the flesh, you have crossed the bridge.
15-2 - *Fail* Well shit happens. You fell down.
To determine the consequences, roll D 20
20-10 - You turned gracefully and fell to your feet. The neck is saved, but the heels are broken. *Remove a shoes slot*
10- 1 - Humble yourself, today is not your day. Falling flat from a height did not cause serious injuries, but the chest armor was broken / torn / damaged                                                       permanently. *Remove a chest slot*

- *critical failure* Thats gonna hurt! You fell headfirst and lost consciousness.

1st roll -
The pool is hot in all meanings. Tells you obscene jokes and vulgar ridicule, while you try to cross it.
20-14 - The effect of warm water relaxes more than his comments oppressed you, so you calmly cross it
13-1 - Yeap. Now you pissed off. *Penalty -5 to Roll on next encounter.*
2d roll -
20 - 3 - Grac! You crossed it. But now all your armor is wet =( . Take it off or suffer penalty -5 to roll on the next encounter.

2 - 1 Oops, it seems your armor was too heavy for this and you are sinking. *loss of consciousness*

^_^

UPD: I don’t know, I tried to do something more neutral. But if you think that I can be tougher on them - just say so ^_^

Description: What is the pool doing here? No one knows. But you need to be on the other side.

Action: Swim to the other side, at the same time enjoy the warm water. ^_^ *Penalty -5 to roll on heavy armor*
Roll D20 twice
1st roll -
The pool is hot in all meanings.

Despite the fact that it makes obscene remarks? Or precisely because it makes them? Hm?

Okay, here we go!

Bridge.png.42b89876dd54ba4847ded9831856b816.png

Oooh, I like this one!  Adrea would be devastated! The Girl only wears heels.

This pool seems unusually punishing!  -10 to the next roll because you're angry and wet.

I might remove the second roll and make it something like "Roll with disadvantage unless you wait for your gear to dry"  and then if they wait to dry, hit them with ambush encounter when they don't have any armor.  ?

But I like this one too!

But what if the pool was SUPER CHARMING!  Like it's Charisma is off the charts!  "Hey Girl...I know you had a long day... why don't you come over here, kick off them shoes and relax in my warm embrace?"
