OBSOLETE

This file has been rendered obsolete now that Yiffy Age includes the Reachmen assets by default from YA 8.x onwards. The blog entry will be kept for archival purposes, but this file should not be used for the time being.

Yiffy Age - Reachmen Addon

a.k.a. Striped Hyenas!

HBellyReach1.jpg

Small addon for Yiffy Age of Skyrim that replaces YA's fox Forsworn/Reachmen with a new race of striped hyenas, as well as making it available as a playable race. Stats and abilities are kept the same as the original Breton race. Replaces all generic Forsworn enemies as well as some unique/non-hostile Breton NPCs that are heavily implied to be Reachmen in vanilla (mostly Markarth residents).

Based on previous work by ValeHyena and Bad Dog.

REQUIRES UNOFFICIAL SKYRIM LEGENDARY EDITION PATCH (USLEEP) TO WORK.

Changes from the original:

  • Cleaned up the race and its data, and did the same for the Vampire variant.
  • Added RaceCompatibility quest and scripts, so Reachmen now (should) have support for Vampirism and Lycanthropy when used as the PC's race and also get access to any mod-added Khajiit headparts (e.g. eyes or hairs).
  • Added the races to the proper HeadParts lists, so they have access to any head parts or assets available to Redguards in the base YA.
  • Fixed the seams and compression artifacts on the female textures and revamped their looks somewhat.
  • Fixed the seams and compression artifacts on the male textures (overall look remains mostly the same).
  • Created Briarheart-compatible textures for males and fixed Briarhearts in general so they would work properly.
  • Re-exported FaceGen for all NPCs using the race.
  • Removed unused files from the archive.

Do note that since the textures include a lot of black and gray and thus would look like crap when compressed, I had to leave the diffuses uncompressed, which makes the file size go through the roof (even after downscaling them to 2k instead of 4k). I won't be compressing them myself because they really do look like crap with any kind of compression and I ain't having none of that, but for someone that isn't as concerned about not having their eyes bleed when they see a hyena may want to compress them for some memory/performance improvement.

Use at your own risk! The file seems to be working just fine on my end and there's been no bug reports so far, but I don't know for sure.

  • No Muscle Normal Map: removes the defined abs and muscles on the torso and replaces them with featureless fur.

I'm not going to lie, this is pretty great, as a yeen lover myself. Would it be hard to make this a standalone race?

Unfortunately, a bit, yes. It's certainly doable, but all the assets would have to be split from Yiffy Age and made standalone which is no easy task. Can't completely rule it out altogether but I can say for sure that it isn't happening anytime soon, if ever.

What body mod supports them because the female boobs look weird with CBBE

Their textures are made for UUNP, but I think Bad Dog posted a CBBE patch in the Drive folder for YA, alongside all the other patches and extras.
