As for the armor I think it really depends on how realistic you want your story to be and what are her means of defending herself. If she's a mage, then you can get away with skimpier outfits. If she's a warrior you might need to give her a bit more armor. Of course if realism isn't your main concern then simply go with whatever you feel looks better on your character and fits her personality the most.

She's a bit more of a regular citizen she carries a sword strapped to her backpack and can cast a fireball but she isn't very skilled in either.

I like this one the best from what you shown, her miner and rugged look was cool too.
