The problem wasn't the Necroids patch. I was trying with the base one, and the launcher was saying the pathing file didn't exist or was invalid. After looking closer at the .mod file that came with it versus another .mod file, I found that the pathing line was there, just in a different location, and not as fleshed out. The other mod does work, so I figured by changing the path in the .mod for Lustful Void to at least mimic it, it would work. But it did not. Now, the launcher is saying the mod isn't even installed on the disk, which is, itself, a lie. However, to save time, i'm reinstalling it and trying to fix it there, THEN i'll worry about the Necroids patch.

So, I am having an odd issue with the mod not working. The mod selector on the launcher is saying the following for me: "The path in this mod's descriptor file is invalid or does not exist". Given i've looked through the files and not found a Descriptor.mod like I did in other mods downloaded today at all, I have no idea if this was an oversight to the latest set of patches, or the download was messed up in some other way. Regardless, I have no idea what to do to fix this, so I will await a reply at the earliest convenience of the forum group. In the mean time, have fun gaming everyone. Thank you for your time. To be clear, the .Mod file with the name of the mod itself does exist, but I was looking for 'Descriptor.mod', like I saw in several other mods, I assume either this mod doesn't have one, or it was the oversight thing again. However, I believe i've figured out the problem after looking into the .Mod file I did see and comparing it to another. A line regarding the pathing to the folder with all the mod assets is not present, whereas the other .mod file I checked DID have said line for pathing. I will attempt to insert the information necessary, and if it works, I will post it here.

[mod] [CK2] Dark World: Reborn - Updated 02DEC2024
xanbalest replied to dewguru's topic in Crusader Kings 2
From the sounds of the latest post on it, it sounds like "Dick check" or whatever it's called, the one that checks to see if a trait ALREADY exists, and doesn't put a new one on if it DOES, isn't working. If that's not working in that respect, it might also be failing to properly take gender into account. This being a working theory, that would be the first place to look to see if the problem is in the mod itself. Now, given Dewguru knows more about this than me, he might (probably) already checked this. The fact that each size is a separate trait entirely, and the bug appears to be removing the previous one and replacing it with a different one according to canthics..... well, that's not even supposed to occur, the coding has a line specifically to PREVENT multiple dick traits appearing. I'm not sure if this helps or not, but I think I remember seeing something in a recent patch notes mentioning something about them changing how the flags were checked or how they worked or something. The only other thing I can think of is completely useless, but i have a minor chuckle thinking about it..... The Futa-ning! like the happening, only everyone gets a dick..... a new epidemic? Edit: As I was typing, Dew responded. I completely forgot the possibility of a yearly pulse check on the epidemics. Though i've seen them start on various days within months, so I don't think it's an annual check for those.- 5577 replies

It's great to hear from you again, Dew. I'm sorry that you had a massive loss of work. I'm sure that some of the new things that came in/are coming in didn't/won't help, but I think that's the downside to modding for a game actively being patched by the developer. I'm just amazed that people keep up with, and sometimes even get ahead on the development of mods. Good luck in your endeavors. I'm going to take a minor break from CK2. I started making vassals in one of my latest playthroughs and suddenly, four of them declared prepared invasions of kingdoms, one of them ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE BLOODY MAP, AND WON! Ireland and a whole kingdom in bloody india. Talk about a headache trying to consolidate the realm after that, I was like "Well, NORMALLY this would be great, if it were closer. But a certain wife ended up being a tiny bit ambitious, didn't she?".- 5577 replies

Both Vassal and Demesne limits can be set to Normal/Unlimited/50%/25% Copied from the DD regarding 2.6.2 ..... Yay! no need to go through the trouble of making changes to the defines.lua for demesne size! ..... Now to go through the lines and see if there's something else I might want to change.- 5577 replies

It's fine, unfortunately i'm the kind of personality to be a stickler for the accurate statement. I apologize if that's aggravating or annoying. But yeah, that is true, most/all sexual options currently in the sub-mods have multi-gender/orientation support. Omega males aren't quite in yet though, and i'm sure some are hoping for that soon.- 5577 replies

3 isn't ENTIRELY true. There is male/male content, but I haven't really gone hunting for it. The visiting brothel male decision is in place. male on gaston event exists to my knowledge. There's probably a spend time with male/male event, but I haven't really had the situation occur where I could check. There isn't a LOT of homosexual content, but there is SOME. But the large part of the content is male/female, female/female, futa/female, futa/futa, and futa/male (Very slim amount). So yeah, it's not what i'd call "Gay-unfriendly".- 5577 replies

eh, kinda, but I'm not looking to make a game breaker mod. The thing I do works, and I'm not going to mess with too many mods beyond eugenics, DW:R, and maybe one or two others which also don't have defines. The only other thing i'd want to change about my defines would be to implement the marriage at younger ages due to the fact that that was literally a thing in the middle ages, people getting married as young as 12, for political reasons, but honestly, i'm kinda squeamish about that concept myself, so changing something merely for the AI to benefit is kinda..... well, it'd balance the overkill stats. But then i'd have to look at every person I try to marry to make sure they're actually 16. Thanks for the offer though. As for your total demense size being different, I'm not sure, but I think you might have a lower value in the multiplier than 50. Either that, or your spouse/steward/both suck as far as stewardship bonus to you goes. As for the other, I've never managed to get my numbers above 150, and I spammed tons of traits and upped my base stat to 100, and couldn't go above that. My state stewardship this time around with wife and steward added in is 271, so yeah..... After a certain amount of boost to the base stat though, it resets to 0 or something, i think trying to boost the base stat over 160ish did it last I checked. Similar things happen with the cash command if you try to go too far over 10 million, or prestige over 2 million, and piety over 1 million.....- 5577 replies

Coretex, the main reason I do the defines the way I do is simply for the auto-balancing effect. Sure, I can control however many titles I like, from barony to empire, directly, but so can the AI. Some tiny part of me views this as being a fair trade off. Then I tie up that part, put it in a burlap sack, and viciously beat it with a baseball bat by adding traits that boost my stewardship by insane amounts, followed by using the add_stewardship command to put my base stewardship at 100, leaving me with like 137 or so in that stat. But I should remember to not boost it by more than 10..... I put in 50, with gavelkind, I have like a max demesne over 8000 -_-' I think that's like ten times the number of actual titles that are actually in the game >.>- 5577 replies

okay, I think I found the issue. Not positive since I can't look at it directly without unzipping the mod file (not the .mod) for the newest mod on my list, but the mod has it's own defines.lua. So I gotta open it up and take a look I guess..... yep... the new mod has a duplicate defines.lua, with the necessary parts changed to allow what the mod allows..... I'm glad I looked there first before I started trying to create a mod that probably wouldn't have worked..... fewer keyboards destroyed in the process I think.....- 5577 replies

the other option for adding futa trait to a character WITHOUT doing the campaign choice event is open command console, type in "add_trait futa (Character ID)", press enter. Voila..... note, it's trap for males, adding futa to a male may cause bugginess, haven't tried it.- 5577 replies

Futa is the fourth option for females in the DWCore campaign decision event. Type in "event DWCore.1" for yourself, the last option, assuming futa mod is enabled, is futa for females, trap for males. Before the update, I could change the defines.lua directly. I changed the stewardship multiplier for demesne to 20.00 and it multiplied my stewardship bonus by 20 in regards to how many titles I could Directly Own. i've tried it about a dozen times and it's not working for me. That was the closest I came to creating a mod, but never did. Guess if I want to have that available as an option, I need to make the mod now myself..... well, an impolite four letter word for fornication.....- 5577 replies

I'm no MVP, i'm just trying to help. Dewguru has enough on his plate with the mod, his other project/projects, and real life. But I still hold him as the MVP, since he created the mod, and thus, the reason we're reading/writing here. If I can take a little off his plate by answering questions, i'm happy to, but my knowledge is limited, and hardly infallible, so don't take it as gospel. As for other mods, as Desmont said, check the "Last updated" statement for any mod you're looking at, the comments to see if it's still usable, and generally the mod creator will say something along the lines of "Compatible with" followed by whatever version of the game it was made for/updated to. I'm a bit of a hyper cautious individual as well, so I typically run a mod on it's own for about 4 in game weeks, then add it to the main mods I use. But most mods don't really interest me. I still use Eugenics, but I just recently added "Child marriage and seduction anyone", for a tiny bit more immersion for the time frame, as well as the DW:Reborn mods in their entirety. Unrelated to mods, until the last update, one could use notepad++ to modify the defines.lua to make the game a little easier, but now it seems this method no longer works. Anyone who uses this method themselves and are scratching their heads over it, I thought someone should mention it. Good luck and have fun everyone.- 5577 replies
