Languidfox Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 So I'm playing with a collection of mods and have generally got everything working together well enough - but periodically come across minor bugs and (very rarely) a more major one. I'm never sure exactly which mod is responsible for something so posting to any given mods page is a bit hit and miss. I'm given to understand that I'm meant to be able to tell what's up by looking at a Papyrus log, but it's all gibberish to me, how am I supposed to interpret it? I've attached one from the last time I've played, that ended in a rare CTD that seemed to result from attempting to loot a body. For instance during an animation a pair of nipple clamps might move in and out slightly as if the character was breathing while their breasts stay static. * The CBBE sliders for adjusting the character's proportions didn't appear to do anything during character generation. * Probably related: Events happen in game in which characters comment on physiological changes that don't seem to have taken place. * Occasional graphical glitches. For instance a character has an infinitely long whip connecting them to (seemingly) the edge of the world or zooming out to third person causes half of the screen to be covered in blocks of solid colour. * Occasional gameplay glitches where the main character isn't able to draw a weapon or ready a spell (fixed by hitting quicksave and quickload). * Load times seem to get longer the longer I play and reset when I turn the game off and on again. An area transition starts off being a few seconds and works its way up to taking 5 minutes over a couple of hours of play. * Very rare crash to desktops (Only two so far, for different events). * Some events that should equip devious items instead offer the option to equip them (e.g. triggering a trap and being asked "are you sure you want to put this on?"). * Some locations appear to exist from mods that are not installed (I used to have different mods installed, I've since deleted all mods via NMM, then uninstalled skyrim, then manually deleted its folder, then reinstalled skyrim and installed some new mods - how is it possible for something to have persisted through that?). Possible dialogue options from deleted mods too (uncertain which mod produced the "can I get a discount" dialogues but I thought it was sexlab dialogues which is presently not installed) That makes it sound like a hot mess, but it's actually working more or less fine and is perfectly playable and enjoyable most of the time. I'm just aware that often fixing things means installing new mods or removing old ones in a way that can make starting a new character necessary so it seemed worth considering if anything like that was necessary before getting too invested. So yeah - how do you trace a problem using the log and how do you fix it when you find it? Papyrus.0.log
