Sceadugengan Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 I've recently decided to migrate to MO2 and installed the portable version. The folder structure between MO and MO2 are similiar enough, so I thought I could just copy the downloads, mods, profile, and overwrite folders and place them in the same place where MO2 is installed. But now it seems MO2 can't see those folder's content... or rather everything that came from MO. I'm at a loss what to do and Google only finds stuff about migrating from NMM to MO. Do you have any advice for me?
Guest Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 No experience with MO2 here but if it behaves at all similar to MO can't you just zip up all your original MO folders and load into MO2 manually? bit of a hassle if you have a lot of mods but ye. No clue how you'd do it with the profiles etc though.
Onionstarz Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 i tried MO2 for oldrim, it's not good it takes at least twice as long to do anything. I moved Mod,Profile,Downloads folders form MO1 to MO2 and the 2 .ini nxmhandlers/mo. MO2 saw my mods with no problems you will need to reset up bash, fnis etc.

Are you talking about something else than moving files using the system's file browser? 2 hours ago, HappyerbS said: i tried MO2 for oldrim, it's not good it takes at least twice as long to do anything. Edit: When using the install mod from archive option from MO2's interface all the .zip-files in MO2's download folder are just invisible. When I navigate to MO's download folder on the other hand I see alle the files and can even install mods from there... Any idea what's going on here?

I just mean the normal way of adding a zip file/mod. I wrote "manually" as adding your existing folders back in as zips might force MO2 to recognise/see the files. Again I have no experience with MO2 though. Just speaking from the perspective of having re-added my existing MO folders as zips to have one version to edit/customise and one unedited in case I mess up. Essentially you would be re-installing the mods. Just without having to redownload. And keeping whatever preferences are saved in json files here and there.

I'm trying that right now, but it seems like MO2 is installing the mods somewhere outside of its own folder... I guess I'll have to find that location first and why the heck it is installing stuff there. Edit: I've solved my problem. The one mod I installed via MO2 was in a subfolder of "VTRoot", which is a folder used by my antivirus software to sandbox applications. Once I disabled the sandboxing all the mods, archives, and profiles became visible.
