analturtle Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Hi, I like to use pieces of armor from different users mods to make my own in game armor but lately i have been coming across CTDs upon equiping said armor. I thought maybe it was because what i was doing - I have a set of armor that has the whole armor as one piece (eg, shoulders, body and legs are one piece) so i delete everything in 3DSMax that i dont want (eg everything but the shoulders) and use cherries FAQ to export the piece of armor but it always CTDs when equiping. I am also using the CHSBHC body and skeleton - if the armor is not using this can I still do the above? What am i doing wrong?
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 If it's CHSBHC, you might be missing the "BBP" skeleton. Others here will be able to direct you to that if you are unable to obtain it, as I have never used it.
analturtle Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 No problem, With cherries FAQ i import her skeleton - then the body i use then the armor and remove the original body then resize. Below is the latest and is only the dwarven shoulders of the UNP skimpy armor mod: http://www.mediafire.com/?5tz3zncnbbsu1e7'>http://www.mediafire.com/?5tz3zncnbbsu1e7 Below is steel armor from Edilhils skimpyy armor mod - got alot furtheer with this one cos i thought it would work: http://www.mediafire.com/?5tz3zncnbbsu1e7 please let me know if links dont work as i hardly ever link from cloud storage and cheers in advance for any help you can provide - its driving me crazy because I dont know if its something i am doing wrong or if what i want to do is not possible.
Vioxsis Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 ok so BSLightingShaderProperty was to blame, you need to take a working skyrim armours BSLightingShaderProperty and just point it to the textures you want. The body needed the same treatment but you should get the BSLightingShaderProperty from a working body not armour. But you did export it without weights so i removed it. http://www.mediafire.com/?5a8a8pp1de4qv5j And your links are both for dwarven.
analturtle Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Okay that worked perfectly but I am still alittle unsure of what you did because I was sure I did all that when I finally put it into the data folder directory - except the weights i missed the other armor is below - with updated shaders : http://www.mediafire.com/?54kdw8r4j5hm5u2 Also, how do you tell if the shader is wrong?
analturtle Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 Okay I am now stumped - I put your working shoulders into 3DSMax - moved them so they fit properly - exported - pasted new shader details via NIFskope and it crashes my game again...... So all you did was remove the body from the dwarven shoulders? Vioxsis - the one you sent back to me works everytime but if i put it in 3DSMax and export it crashes my game everytime - what exactly did you do to the shoulders?
Vioxsis Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 http://www.mediafire.com/?lyfyvd0d9b9d83q To fix this i needed to re export them from max, you have some weighting to fix. can you tell me what version your nif exporter and nifskope are, also post a screenshot of your export settings.
analturtle Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 No Problem - and thankyou so much for helping me with this. Other stuff worked fine following cherries FAQ http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=4514 Maybe I am applying the smooth modifier wrong? Export Settings from 3DSMax Versions
Vioxsis Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Update your exporter http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5622 That should hopefully fix your issues.
