Guest Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I was going to convert the FFXIII Lightning outfits to BNB... that's not going to fly well though... MOST of the nodes in Nif scope don't match up with what's in the BNB outfits... so do I go through and delete out the nodes then add in all the ones needed for BNB or is this a very bad idea???
Rogue_Kitsune Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 It's questions like this that make me glad other people know how to do this stuff. XD Normally, I wouldn't have the faintest clue where to even begin...but...I remembered seeing a tutorial in one of the files I downloaded, and so went and tried to track it down (and found what looks to be an even more detailed version!) http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/40227 The last file in the downloads for this mod, under "Miscellaneous," is a tutorial on...well, it should be exactly what you're looking for, really. It actually doesn't seem too terribly complicated, either; if I find myself feeling adventurous sometime, I might even take a shot at converting some myself, too. The only reason I'm personally hesitant is it requires using Blender, which I know nothing about. Well, that, and I should try to keep focusing on college, not video games... but hey, if you're up to it, by all means, good luck and have fun! (And I'm sure there's a couple people around here who would love to see what you come up with! )
Guest Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Yeah... that's what I was trying to do... but all the nodes for the Lightning Armor don't match up, hence my hangup.

[/quote'] The problem you're experiencing is that the armor was weighted to the oblivion skeleton and the fallout skeleton is different. You'll have to weight the armor to the BnB skeleton without having the luxury of simply using the bone-weight copy script.
Guest Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 So once I make all the Nif scope mods I'll have to delete out the Skeleton in Blender and then add in the BNB Skeleton then continue with the Blender portion of the guide correct?

Hmm yeah basically... when you import a NIF into Blender you can also import an armature(skeleton) along with it. What you'll have to do is re-weight the mesh to the BnB armature once you've "unattached" it from the original Oblivion armature. Some links that may help... http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Rigging_skinning_and_dismemberment http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.4/Manual/Modeling/Meshes/Weight_Paint http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Blender_import_and_export_armor_for_Oblivion http://www.scribd.com/doc/14040886/242/Skinning I'm sure you can find more but these will get you started.
Guest Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Ugh... so I've gotten every possible error so far, started with AssertionError-> Duplicate bone bip01spine, No Bonebip01spine, etc... My latest error is unweighted for all the detail items on the outfit, pockets, straps, etc... I'm getting no where fast, all I find are things I'm doing wrong.
