skyrim just not opening

When I download anything aside from the basic framework and patch, the game just won't start beyond that window that says "play, options, support, exit". when I only have the framework and patch, I get a message saying that it did the debug thing, but I don't know how to do the debug thing if the freakin game doesn't even open. (yeah I know I sound like an old person, but honestly I just want to get this to work, so I don't care).

most mods wont work with it, donwload skse (skyrim script extender)
