Uhh so this is probably a really stupid question but I downloaded some goblinboy games and the .GAM files do nothing

My pc just looks for something to open them with

As far as I know, all of his games are written in the TADS engine. To play these, you need an interpreter.

I recommend Gargoyle, since it can also play Inform and ADRIFT games, which are the other most popular formats for these types of games.

It runs on all platforms.

I downloaded it and ran the file with gargoyle but it doesnt seem to be fully loading.

There are no pictures and it looks like a blank white screen with text

For some of his games, that's all you're going to get. It's interactive fiction, which means you read text and type commands. Some but not all such games include pictures. Which game are you trying to play?
