unable to download any mods.

Okay, i'm the first to admit i'm technologically gifted but i'm beyond frustrated with myself and this and hope perhaps you can give some guidance.

When i go to download mods for such as fourplay etc, i don't get the option to download with NMM, it downloads as a zip file which i have to unzip using winrar, then when i manually try to find the files they don't appear for NMM. i have absolutely zero idea what i'm doing wrong.

please help!

So you can download but you can't install using a mod manager, two different things.

Not all mods are made to be used/installed with a mod manager, you can install manually if know how to.

in order to work with a mod manager the author of a mod needs to add some xml info so the mod manager can install the mod.

It is way easier to download the zip file and then just slap it into NMM yourself, I find.

As for the files themselves, observe what the name of the file you are downloading  is (if you are downloading it manually) and try finding it using the windows search function.

It is also probably good to note that you don't have to unzip said files, you have to load up the .rar file as a whole into NMM, if you do it manually.

Aren't you confusing fomod installers and mod manager installers ?

If there is a fomod, the mod will install using it, if there is not it will just put the files in the data folder. So as long as the file structure is okay, it will work.
