FOMM is giving me an odd crash on Nexus login

Recommended Posts

On Nexus login when trying to install the new Sexout Core and Data fomm, I keep getting an error message, that directs me to the crash.txt for FOMM. This is what it reads.

Anyone have any idea why its doing this?

Surprisingly, I do have an idea why it might be doing that... They've made a lot of changes over on the Nexus sites recently; they've even gone so far as changing the address of the site itself (from newvegasnexus.com to newvegas.nexusmods.com). It's possible, probable, even, that something has changed on their end that interferes with FOMM. Especially since I think they were trying to encourage people to stop using it in favor of their new and "shiny" Nexus Mod Manager (which, last I'd heard, wasn't nearly as useful as FOMM).

That said, though, the way I've been getting around it is just not using the login feature - when you open the package manager and it asks you to sign in, just click cancel; I don't think it can check for updates that way, but it will still work just fine for installing .fomod files. (Or, well enough, anyway... I normally have to move the .fomod files to the install directory (Documents/My Games/FalloutNV/Mods) manually; trying to do it through the program causes it to crash. Once they're there, though, it can activate them no problem.)
