Game refusing to start up

I downloaded a torrent of this game, in hoping of modding it with some of the stuff on this fine site. I grabbed the Dead or Alive 5: Last Round [v 1.09B + 68 DLC] RePack by qoob, which should be exactly what I need to run DOAHDM and the like. The game is refusing to load in--after startup, I'll get a brief moment where it looks like it's loading, then the game will crash and I'll get a "Dead or Alive 5 Last Round has stopped working" message. 

 

Anyone know what might be going wrong?

That's the trouble with "unofficial" gaming sources bud. Generally speaking, 99% of the mods run flawlessly with the official game. Aside from that, can your PC's specs handle the game?

My PC is brand new, and while not a self-built, top-of-the-line rig, it's an out-of-the-box gaming rig, so that should be fine. Farcry 5 runs great on it. So are you suggesting I download the game from steam or something, rather than a torrent? If I do that, will I be getting a more recent version of the game that's incompatible with DOAHDM?

I have the official base game.  My PC ain't that powerful output and I did not install autolink due to my antimalware locking it up. Aside from that I can play the game with all the mods.

Dude, you must be rich or have some money. You have a brand new gaming rig and Farcry5 then the last step will be get a DOA5LR full version (and Tropical Paradise DLC) from Steam.

Then you can ask DOAHDM team about compatibility because they only focus on official version, not RePack or something else.

 

If you are one of unfortunate people within tightly restricted regions where games like DOA5LR are banned / prohibited  and no chance to adult modding, then I will understand and have a strong sympathy and certainly consider to support.

 

But this forum and site is for modding and modders first place, not for support / provide freedom for those unfortunate dudes. I guess somewhere there are sites for that, very very important topic, either focusing on adult modding or not.

 

Verhoven69 is absolutely true. The most of mods here will work if DOA5LR (free or full version) can run, wherever older PC or virtual environments. 

If there is not working, then will be very good topic to start and discuss.

Ok, so I guess I'll wait for the tropical paradise DLC to go on sale over steam, since that's the only DLC needed to run DOAHDM according to that thread's sticky'd post. Because despite what Otakadelic might think here:

Yup. Torrents, well the contents are a mixed bag. Some may contain unwanted virus etc. LRS ((another mod injecting tool) only runs on the official version etc). So yes, it is much safer/convenient to at least have the base game officially then add the bells and whistles. Just a friendly advise to another fan. Who else but us fans need to stick with each other.

Please be careful to protect yourself. This forum is the best place to get/discuss DOA5LR mods but easily get banned if you go deep into piracy. 

And yes, Techmo/KOEI slap our faces with insane price. But there are several ways to find better deals.

There are many, many key resellers but MHO these two offer better prices from others (sometime with wide margin).  Worth to check frequently. 

 

Chance to get DOA5LR full version with better price is fairly realistic. However, Tropical Paradise DLC won't appear on these resellers and probably have to wait until next sale.

11 weeks is very very long to wait I know bc I did but never seen before anywhere else.

 

eBay is OKay but check who is selling. Better to avoid GA2, no matta how low. Treat as not exists.

 

You can apply autolink and swap costume files even with free version. It limits Kasumi and Ayane only and essential tool LNK_Reshulle won't work with free version but tons of mods exists for these two girls, naked or not. Try these with autolink until next sale.
