[Question] Blender Skyrim workflow?

I'm trying to get a feel of how people make Skyrim armor using Blender these days. The answers I find on the net are usually at least several years old.


Do most people still use Blender 2.49b to import/export nifs, then save in a format compatible with Blender 2.7x and do the editing there?

Or are there other, better ways now?

For example, do you use Blender just for modeling and then export .obj to Outfit Studio? In that case, where/how do you prefer to do the texturing and weight painting?
