The narrator has something to say for almost everything you do, and that I think was one of the things that made this game great. That and the fantastic soundtrack in the game.

 

As for the ending, I chose to evacuate because we can't just brush our mistakes aside. That would mean that everything we had done before that would have been a lie. The only direction we can go after everything falls to pieces is foward, or we risk making the same mistakes that brought us to calamity in the first place.

 

And yes, I fully intend on playing this game again (New Game Plus).
