New to modding here

I am kind of new to this site and I was trying to get some armor mods to work. They came from the "what mod is this" thread. I downloaded the links from mediafire and thought I placed the data in the appropriate files, but when I go in game the console commands don't work and/or say that the strings are not found. All the ones I am having trouble with were originally asian mods originally from the arrow to the knee group. How do I properly place the data and strings into my skyrim folder? Thanks.
