Cipherof3vil Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I'm really pissed at all these epic crossbow mods, I've always wanted a crossbow in Skyrim and now it seems like everyone has one. I see bucketloads of epic crossbow mods or mods using crossbow data for rifles. Can't a mod maker include the files for the crossbow usage separate from dawnguard? Perhaps tweak it ever so slightly to it technically isn't the same? Afterall with this Hearthfire thing they're taking free mods and seem to be calling it theirs and making money off of it. Tweaking the crossbow data and using it for free in your own separate non-profit work should be perfectly fine I want to join in all the crossbow fun T~T I should just get dawnguard, Serina or whoever and the Vampire Lord abilities are all so epic looking, but that's money I can't well spend...
Ark of Truth Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Technically yes it can be done. Legally no it can't be. Importing assets from one game into another regardless if it is a expansion is breaking copyright. As far as I am aware.

But I can't see how its really different from modding the base skyrim *frown* If you tweak it to make it more or less "your own"' date=' there wouldn't be [i']any [/i]problem would there? Edit: Well, I take that back. I guess I do see how it isn't totally okay. But I also see how it would be okay, considering things are being imported from everywhere.
