DawnCry Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Hello and first of all thank you for the time that you are using by reading this. In this post I want to talk about a new page that I'm making in collaboration with another person and it is called adult pledge, our objective to make this page is that we want to create a place were adult creators can actually be in the open, without being hidden under the carpet as it happens with patreon. The main three points that we want to show are exactly the following: -An adult page: In this page only those that are +18 can create an account. -Visibility: We want that people can find any adult patreon thanks to a search engine that in the future will lets you find those patreons that have the kinks you like and none of the ones that you ban. -Compromise & security: As many of you know patreon has been becoming more restrictive regarding to adult content creators, this is because they are developing a relationship with paypal, which is one of the most active fighters against anything related to adult content. In this page we want creators to feel secure, because of that we won't be able to change what we accept as adult content at out own discretion. What is accepted today will be accepted tomorrow. As many of you can understand there is a big risk that patreon will become even more restrictive towards adult content in the future and perhaps one day they may even ban it from their site and enter a full partnership with paypal. Even more right now it's easy to see a few of the possible directions, because now they don't accept rape that means that mind control has quite a big risk right now, another fetish that could be easily a target are those based on monstergirls or non human creatures, because they have banned bestiality so it would be a very possible next step. We aren't asking people to fully trust us, just that you may give us a chance be it if you are a creator by making a page there too while maintaining your current patreon one and if you are a supporter by trying us too even if it's once. I sincerely thank everyone that have read this post and to end this post I would like to add a link to the page of adult pledge.adultpledge.com Please ask us any doubt, problem, question... even more give us feedback about what we can do better, or any grammar mistake that we may have.
dharvinia Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 While I applaud your efforts, you should know that there is a concerted effort on the part of those in control (or would like to be) of the internet to eradicate all porn from the web. This is no longer an effort at the ISP level, but at the TRUNK level. Providers have been told to quietly clean out their membership of undesirables, or face a considerable drop in their bandwidth. This is presently a North American phenomena, but In the years to come it will spread to the entire web. This is in concert with the effort to end Net Neutrality. It starts by having your provider send the individual a standard form detailing the rules and regulations and further stating that if any of these rules are broken their service will end. It then says that failure to respond will result in deeming the individual as having accepted the rules and they will be monitored for any infraction. If the individual does not accept their terms one can immediately disconnect the provider's equipment from the date of receiving the letter, again failure to disconnect the equipment deems one as having accepted the provider's terms and conditions. If Patreon is bowing to pressure, then it could be assumed that Paypal is also bowing to press from a higher power. It is true that power corrupts. Personally I am not sure, but what I do know is that judging by the results at the polling stations and the actions of the elected representatives, this is clearly the case. The power of ballot turns into the power of wallet. As it is with Business, the power of the wallet is the ultimate master of all.

Yeah I'm against net neutrality and what Trump is doing with the internet, on that point this is extremely bad. At the same time paypal isn't bowing to anyone, that company has always fought actively against porn or adult sites and it's use since 2014, actively banning accounts or services to anyone related to adult content, be it porn, games... Then one day of 2016 they did a change, people thought that it would be for the better when patreon announced that paypal would be used by adult creators too, however in 2017 they started again to make a great pressure so that what is allowed is more limited, patreon decided to modify their restrictions by increasing it... a lot. While they say that it only affects a minority that's a lie and in fact it is clearly easy to see that they will even restrict it more in the future. 1º One of the points that changed on patreon are the changes related to rape in games and incest, however one possible fetish that should follow within a year related to those fetishes is mind control, which can be much worse than rape and it was used in many incest games. 2º While it was banned too bestiality this concept is quite... difficult to determine a limit, would monster girls, furry, half beast characters... fall under this category in the future?. So not anything is related to Trump and his actions, most of them are a result of paypal and patreon decisions that have been limiting more and more adult creators, be it what can be shown on the page, fetishes... The thing that I have always thought incredible on patreon is that they allow people of 13 years old to make an account on the page, this has always been something ridiculous. Another point is that while adult creators give quite a good profit to patreon they haven't done anything to help them, they could have made something like "adult patreon" in which it was restricted to people over 18 years old to have an account and in which people could find creators of adult content based on kinks, it wouldn't be hard for them but... they didn't do it. So while we have the net neutrality issue I find it wrong to focus on it on this point.

Arguably it would appear that net neutrality is what is being discussed here. To be clear it is not. The issue is that PayPal wants to market to as wide an audience as possible thus increasing its profits without the worry that some minor will inadvertently access x-rated material. So when banning people with kinks and fetishes they indeed believe that this is a small minority of the population. To limit their selection to 18+ when they can have kids with money using their service would be insane. Lawyers are the main problem here as well, as we have a new generation coming along looking to make a name for themselves with absolutely no idea that beyond their own borders other countries, customs, and ways of thinking exist. Thus the idea of an adult patreon is redundant and runs the risk again of a child accessing adult material, too costly. Another factor is that right now, it is not politically correct to engage in, or write about any activity that could in any way be be see as violence toward women. The agenda here is plain and simple, what will make the most profit.
