Shield on Back

There are several mods out that make it so when you sheath your weapon your shield is put on your back, however they all suffer from the same problem of only applying to vanilla Oblivion shields (in in Tycho's case, a select group of mods). I'm using Battlehorn case and Lord Kelvyn's Bulwark which is not part of the Shield on Back mods. Does anyone know of a work around?

You can probably make a SoB mesh with Nifskope. I haven't tried SoB, so I'm not 100% sure, but it should work. I've tried this for offhand weapons a couple of times, and even converted common clutter into weapons (ever used a giant 2-handed spoon to hit people?).

Open a working SoB model in Nifskope. Open the one you want to convert in another window. Open the sceneroot node and find the meshnode (NiTriStrips or similar) of the shield. Right-click it, and select block->copy branch. In the SoB nif, paste the block onto the sceneroot. Make sure it is lined up the same as the one you're trying to replace. If not, you may have to edit the transform of the inserted block to make it line up. Also, if there's more than one meshpart, repeat the procedure until the entire shield is complete. If it's all in place, remove the original SoB shield, by right-clicking the meshnodes and selecting block -> remove branch.
