coldreborn Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 It's been a while since I played OBV, so I decided to to a fresh install and delete my previous, well everything concerning obv; including saves, local files, etc. Decided to give Pk a go, with quite a few mods I was interested in. Basically I'm at the point where I know it is not my load order, because I disabled all esm's/esp's except the main. Previous to this I did a bash patch, after running boss and re sorting all the lovers plugins afterword. I have not been able to get past the intro vid when you choose to make a new char, each time whether I esc to the chargen or not, it CTD's as soon as the intro vid is done. I'm unsure as to what can cause this, as I said I've been out of the theoretical loop regarding obv for some time. I'm thinking meshes/textures at this point... Would appreciate any feedback on possibles. Also searched quite a bit and made sure my obse had all the required plugins I could find. I did have an issue with the version of MBP I used; it was mostly in japanese, and I'm not fluent, so I just tried to be as basic as I could to install just the core mod files. And as I said my current load order is just oblivion.esm, just posted this to give everyone an idea of what I'm using. I'm sure there's all kinds of what not wrong. Also using growlfs uni skeleton. Ark of Truth Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Try installing Alternative Start by Robert Evrae and see if that fixes the issue. Make sure you read the readme and place it the slot above the bashed patch.

coldreborn Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 I do indeed, I run an ASUS G74Sx laptop, the sound card using dxdiag says its a "RTKVHD". I know it's realtek. I've had no issues with any other game on this laptop. Even with skyrim. And actually, using Robert Evrae's mod, I go hear sounds as if being on a boat... Which is what is supposed to be heard I'd assume. It doesn't loop or anything.
Ark of Truth Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 IF IT'S WORKING CORRECTLY: You should load up into a cabin on the boat, fill out the form on the table and then use the bed. You should spawn the docks of the city you choose on the form. IF IT'S NOT WORKING CORRECTLY: If you have the GX sound setting enabled on your computer TURN THEM OFF! It causes the game to CTD after watching the intro movie. I have attached a screenshot so you know what I am going on about.

coldreborn Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 Removed the aforementioned double plugins. "3D Beautiful PeopleV22 - MaleReplacerV4.esp" is what came with MBP 1.4. Looking at it, it seems to me that it's a roberts replacer of some sort, but I would like to know why in the holy hell would a race mod that adds hairs and whatnot come with a replacer? I the version of MBP off nexus, didn't dl anything extravagant, just what I assumed was needed. Ark, looking at some of the programs on my laptop, it would seem that it came with creative labs software along with being made my realtek. The 2 CL progs I have are CL alchemy and CL THX Trustudio. Now I did some looking on the Alchemy, and I'm unable to find any way to disable it completely, only reset the games(which when I ran the setup it came up with obv not being on the enabled list) to defaults, which I did. Still CTD. I was able to disable CL TruStudio. The general sound settings are ridiculously basic, not even an equalizer is present. Still doing some research on this.

Apparently The alchemy prog enables plug and play audio with win 7/vista, because Microsoft stopped p&p with vista. It does nothing more. Now the reason I was unable to find any equalizer is because there is also a subprob called CL Crystalizer, which will not co exist with THX Trustudio, uninstalled THX, gonna reboot and see if I get that Crystalizer back. Tried creative labs, they apparently dont have any download, and make no mention of it with any packaged software. Tried asus, only thing that's available is that Trustudio, and the base driver. Uninstalled everything but the driver off of Realtek's site, and still CTD. Also, I just took a peek into the config, and set bSoundEnabled=1, bMusicEnabled=1 to "0". Started up and still CTD.

Now I just have to figure out what was the bad mod. Is there perhaps an earlier version of MBP here on LL? I'm starting to think using a newer one perhaps was part of the issue. But then again; with no plugins enabled except the main, it shouldn't be... I'm not a pro at this, further direction as to how to get it modded successfully would be very much appreciated XD.

coldreborn Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 Update: Up and running, used the lovers complete package to get all the LL stuff. CTD's back, but only when using the alt start mod after I choose my class and hit finalize. I can run around, etc all I want. Says I need solf's boners mod, but I'm not even sure she supports her stuff anymore. That I can live with, just the newest crash is what gets me. Update2: Everything is running fine now, for the most part anyway. I suppose this thread can be deleted/locked now. Thanks for the help you both!
