Can't feed

I am having a problem playing as a vampire for the first time on SSE.  I cannot feed.  I use the seduction spell sneak and click on the npc, and I get the pickpocket inventory.  I've tried sneaking and standing.  Has anyone encountered this problem?  I've searched google and they say to type 'Player.SetRace  nordvampirerace' in console for example.  But when I type it for the race I am, it says 'SetRace is not a function.

I never had this problem with the original Skyrim.

Okay, I've been testing.  The problem is even though I have all vampire powers and abilities.  My character doesn't change race.  For example his eyes don't change.  Also when I selected the vampire start in LAL.  The vampires refer to me as "prey."  So this tells me my PC has not changed race.  I encountered a similar problem long time ago with Skyrim classic, but I forgot how I fixed it.  I deactivated the 'Race Compatibility' mod, since I am not a custom race.  But I still have the problem.

Okay, fixed the problem.   I extracted the contents of the 'Better Vampires' bsa, using the bsa extractor found on SSE nexus; and let it overwrite the scripts.  Once it was done I started a new game chose the vampire start with LAL and bam!  I can now feed.  I believe th culprit was the 'Race Compatibility' mod.  I remember having a similar problem with Skyrim classic.
