When I start a game of Oblivion, a lot of times I can't do anything in any of the menus. I run my pointer over the spells and nothing happens; they won't highlight or activate. When speaking to a NPC I can't choose any options. If I hit escape, I can't choose to save.

 

Outside of the menus everything works fine. I can fight, cast spells, go through doors, etc...

 

Occasionally WyreBash gives me a .

 

Does anybody have a clue as to what could be causing this?

EDIT:

I'm running windows 7, and tried running WyreBash as Admin.

 

 

EDIT: Okay, for some reason it seems that having to many saves messes up the menu cursor. I have no idea why this happens, or what exactly it means, but if I keep the save files at around five, the problem doesn't occur nearly as often.
