GMan2 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I'm using a free utility called "Who Crashed", and whenever Skyrim freezes up, and I have to ctrl/alt/del to get out of it, I will create a dump file of Skyrim from within Task Manager, and then have that utility try to pin point the cause of the freeze. It keeps reporting that this WoW64cpu.sys file seems to be the root cause. The research I've been able to locate in regards to the issue seems to suggest that WoW64cpu, 'might' be associated with Direct X. I've tried reinstalling Direct X but am unable to because the installer says I've already have the latest version. And the WoW64cpu, the version I have installed, is a later issue of any files that I can locate online....so apparently that is up to date as well. But does anyone know how I can keep this WoW64cpu file from freezing up my game? System Specs are: Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit SP1 and all critical updates installed EVGA X58 3X SLI Motherboard Intel i7 930 @ 2.8Ghz (No overclocking) NVidia GeForce 470GTX x 2 (running in SLI) Beta driver 304.79 12 GB's Corsair DDR 3 Ram @ 1600 Mhz Direct X 11: Version 6.01.7601.17514 (which is same version of WoW64cpu file)
