vShiro Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Hello there folks! After some time with dealing around with mods and stuff like that, I managed to install SexLab. If I go ingame, install it, it works for me. Now, I wonder a few things: I have insallted a few other mods, but it seems, they don't show up in Skyrim, when I run the game. Besides that, SkyUI works for me, but not the favorite tab. I wonder, if it has to do something with that. Here is a picture of my Mod Organizer with the mods I want to use, hope that helpshttps://puu.sh/yT58i/2693b3ea6a.png Besides that, I have installed the MatchMaker, which seems to work...well, I tried it once and during that animation, my male was the female and the female NPC had a strapn-on, for whatever reason Greetings
scarebear2403 Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 That looks like an absolute mess haha. You have both manually installed and using MO's virtual file system for everything. MO doesn't know how to deal with manual installations and I don't recommend it. Rule of thumb for MO - Everything from data folder and deeper - Let MO handle it with VFS -Anything that goes into skyrims directory - Manually install. For mods that have both (like skse) manually install those bits then repack the data folder onwards and install as a mod using the VFS. You need to remove all those unmanaged mods from the data folder. Also move XPMSE down below bodyslide output in the left pane. Edit- just noticed skse as low priority in left pane. Should be up top. Good luck!
vShiro Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 Ah, I see. Well, now I need to figure what actually is a mod and what is part of the game, damn... Might be best to just delete the entire folder and reinstall?
scarebear2403 Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Delete everything in the data folder if you are not sure. Then just verify the game cache in steam. Edit - the DLCs are part of the game (hearthfire, dragonborn, dawngaurd and the high res packs)
vShiro Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 Alright, just deleted the entire folder and now Steam is downloading again, hope that helps
scarebear2403 Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Everything else you had manually installed can be used entirely in the VFS. You need to set up the exe for fnis (like skse and bodyslide)
vShiro Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 With VFS you mean the right panel, in MO, that says "Skyrim" for example and you can run that? I am an absolute noob at modding. Everything that exceeds steam workshop "subscribe and you are good to" exceeds my knowledge by far xD
vShiro Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 Would help, if I told you, what I wanted to achieve with modding? Like, what I wanna do?
scarebear2403 Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 VFS = Virtual File System. MO makes a virtual file structure that it loads from, leaving your actual skyrim install squeeky clean. Good for idiots like me that slash and hack my load order then forget what I have done The right pane is the plugin load order (esm , esp). It should be sorted with loot and looked over (loot isn't perfect) The left pane is the load order for all the other assets in a mod. As a rule of thumb match it to the plugin load order. It isn't a precise science with the left pane though. It is mainly for determining what overwrites what. Few exceptions though (like XPMSE).

vShiro Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 So, that means, I don't have to put the mod, I wanna use, inside the actual Skyrim folder? Yeah, I still got LOOT around on my PC. Hrrrm...not sure if I understand, what you mean here, I am no native english speaker xD I just let Skyrim download again and then I open the mods I wanna use with MO, no matter in which folder they are? Or am I wrong here?

scarebear2403 Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Oh and do not use workshop with MO (or any manager, it will break your game). If you are subbed to mods either unsub or never load the vanilla game start screen. There is a way to safely install workshop mods with MO but its a bit of a pain.

When you do, open the archive into a new folder. Drag the two dll files into the skyrim folder. Archive whats left and install it as a mod in MO. To check if SKSE is installed correctly open console on main menu and type GetSKSEVersion. Should display the version down the bottom.
vShiro Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 Alright. I deleted the entire Data folder, let it download again and deleted some more stuff in the Skyrim folder, since I had Enderal and some other stuff around. Now, I just let it check again, afterwards I try to install SKSE as you said. EDIT: Oh, and I unsubscribed my subscirptions in the workshop
