I have a question before I install Dawnguard

I've been wanting to get the Dawnguard DLC, but I've been seeing a lot of people having problems with it using custom race mods, like missing heads, or unresponsive NPC's...etc. once they become a vampire. I'm using this race ( Link ), sadly the mod author seems to have given up on it, so I don't think there will ever be an update or patch to fix the problem.

 

I'm rather attached to my character and don't want to start over, and I really have no intentions on becoming a vampire with her anyway. So, my question is... during the Dawnguard quest chain, if I choose to side with the Dawnguard and kill the vampires will I be able to complete Dawnguard without issues do to using a custom race?. Or is there a point in the quest that I'm forced to become a vampire and making the problems unavoidable?.

 

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated...Thanks.

I am playing dawnguard as a custom race, and sided with the dawnguard as well as become a vampire and it works perfectly fine. I have heard siding with the vampires as a custom race can cause problems, but there is a very easy way to fix it with the creation kit. In the situation you just described you won't have that issue and won't have to do any fiddling either.

Thanks everyone for answering my question, I think I'm going to give Dawnguard a try, hopefully I won't have to many issues since I won't be force to become a vampire. I think I'll make a backup of my installation folder, and saves just in case though, better safe than sorry.
