howzitaloha Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Just a general conversation that might help out others experiencing the same things. I have a couple I can't figure out. One is that my sim will randomly change into his underwear and try to sleep in all sorts of places and when he's not even tired. Also, my sims flat out won't cook. I tried another website and they said it's a bug with CC sofas/beds/benches. I ran the Sims4Studio and ran all of the batch updates. I even removed all CC beds, sofas, benches, couches, chairs, counters, fridges and they still won't cook. Not game breaking issues, but definitely annoying pain in the butt issues.
benitoitaly Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Im still going through each and every mod I have to find out which one is disrupting my GUI. No menu's, no command wheels, no options menu. Nothing. But im narrowing down my list.
JackBikwik Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 There are a few issues still happening with people. Here are a few I've noticed (including their solutions); Old custom traits are incompatible, period. We'll have to wait for them to be fixed. Deleting pre-patch households would break the game and no longer let you load any households, an error would pop up instead. This has been patched. Mods that altered aging would cause various issues including and endless loading screen or an error on load. Remove these mods and turn aging off. The patch unchecked "aging off" so if you normally play with aging off, it's suddenly back on. The game forcing everyone to age up simultaneously caused endless loading or an error on load. Turn aging off to fix. Neia's custom careers are having problems. Initially, they didn't work at all. She patched them and then they blocked you from being able to save the game. She patched them again and now they prevent you from following a Sim to work with the GTW expansion. Unconfirmed whether this is occurring with other custom careers. Remove these and wait for an update. The fashion career is also broken. WickedWhims is still being ironed out and throwing errors and unpredictable interactions with other mods. Use at your own risk. If you are getting errors, glitched or odd behavior the diagnostic method is the same for everything. Firstly, you should have your mods organized within your mod folder. Separate them intuitively. For example, I have separate folders within my mod folder named Body, Build, Buy, ClothesBottom, ClothesTop, Jewelry, etc. This allows you to test things much quicker. If you need help organizing your mods and determining what each file is, download Sims 4 Studio, then run it and click "My CC" to see a list of your mods and previews where possible. Next, move ALL your mods to a safe place. Launch the game. Do you still have the problem? If yes, do a "factory reset". Do to so, backup and delete the entire Sims 4 Documents folder. When you run the game again, it will recreate it. Start a new game. Still have the problem? If yes, do a clean install. If no, add in one of your saves. Test again. If the problem is fixed, move back in your tray folder, nothing else. Still fixed? Move to next step. Not fixed? Your save is broken. If moving your CC fixes the issue, start moving your CC back in batches. You have it organized in to folders now, so this will be easy. "Program" mods will be the riskiest. These are mods like careers, cheats, MCCC, WickedWhims, relationship changes. Basically anything that changes how the game works. You can try moving these back first because they are the most likely to be causing your problem. Retest after adding each folder. After you recreate the problem, remove that folder again and start adding back those mods a few at a time. Eventually, you'll find the culprit. When you do, report it here. Happy simming, everyone!
howzitaloha Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 In case anyone has the same issue with the not cooking thing, it was the "no auto food grab after cooking" mod by LittlemsSam that was causing the issue. Still haven't identified the random switching to underwear and wanting to sleep when not tired thing, but that will probably be harder because it's at random and harder to pull out.
reaveraward Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 I can tell my Sims to do something and they'll go to do it, then stop and stand there. Also, what brought me into this sub-board: my ice cream maker doesn't work at all. Not sure where either issue lies, but I should note that I haven't had time yet to go through and check all of my mods.
