Program that helps some computers power through low memory problems

I found a program the other day that works to help free up memory and I want to share it. It is called Game Booster 3. It can be found at this link: Game Booster 3

After I ran it, it freed up some 44% of my resources to run games. It does things like find programs that are running in the background that do not need to be running. But when you finish playing, it can re-enable those programs.

Been using Game Booster for a long time. Even so I'm never sure if it actually does anything. I haven't done a before/after test for any game. But it can't hurt to close down unused programs and freeing up space when running a game.

I have noticed a bit of a difference, as I am using a laptop, with not so great specs. And I was just introduced to the program, and I have seen that it works.

It can be used for any game that runs on Steam, and you can add others to it, so that when you start them it does its thing.

Well, with my set up I did several thing to deal with low memory/crappy video card and they made a big difference.

1) stream line (seems to only work with game restart-memory manager- ditches unused memory after a while)

2) stutter remover

3) low polly grass

4) whispering feet

1)-4) seemed to help a bit

5)also as pcs have multicores I searched for ini tweaks that would make better use all my processors.the stock oblivion ini basically is set up for single or double core processors(ancient tech) so it does not make any use of at best more than 2 cores for processing without the ini being tweaked) sry i cant give you specifics but my friend Google should be able to help you.

6) set 3 gb large address space flag on my 32 bit machine(not required for 64 bit machines).32 bit machines have a 2gb maximum memory per app/game typically. So lottsa mod can eat into your 2gb's. Ask Google but you don't need to download some stupid mod to do this in windows 7 it just a command line command you run once.other win os no idea ask Google!

5) - 6) helped a lot

7)It also couldn't hurt to tweak you windows setup and switch off/set to manual services that you don't use or infrequently use and/or tweak start up to stop every single program you have every installed from trying to start on boot and run in the background constantly whether you actually use em or not.

Basically 1-7 combined moved the game from lag fest /barely playable to playable with occasionally laggyness on low settings.

I find games from around 2006 or so run much worse on my system that more modern games because of the change in architecture from single /double core processors to god know how many processors(cores) pc have know.think the i7 has something like 8 logical(virtual)/4 physical cores or 2 main threads per physical core last time i checked

Be warned playing with some of this stuff can mess up your machine, until you fix it or someone else does. For example playing with the windows services. The only silver bullet i know off to fix this sort of problems is a better set up(fork out some cash if you have it) or tweaking your system(may require serious investment of time)

might want to check your sound/video drivers etc are up todate as well.

Could help running oblivion iso from a virtual drive
