sadly, it went so far. true what you say. I also hate that gold system on moderteam. it makes people just waste their time day after day, posting replies in pointless treads. I don't see the profit. But, in that case, maybe it's not a matter of gold. The content of the mod is actually ripped from original game. maybe author just wants to restrict access to his mod in case not to be detected by rights owners. that's it. maybe i'm wrong.

Just adding a few cents to the mix:

 

It's not only them charging money for edited, formerly free stuff. Check the popular poser sites. I have stumbled over several stolen mods and meshes from the Nexus, which were converted to poser and now cost money to download. Example: the HGEC body. It makes me sick.

 

Aside from that: I don'T really get the drama this mod creator is stirring up now. If you can't deal with people sharing your stuff, DONT upload it anywhere. Once it's out there, it's out of your hands. Everybody nows this.

Save my dollface texture somewhere in the "textures" folder in your oblivion directory.

Open the moonshadow elves esp in the construction set. Go to the "characters" tab in the menu bar. Choose "race". Find the moonshadow race in the race window and highlight it. Go to the second tab, there should be a list of all the mesh pieces concerning the head. Meshes on the left, corresponding textures on the right. First in the list is the head. Click on the right tab, that's the head texture. Now browse the texture folders and choose my dollface texture instead of the original moonshadow one. DONE :) Save.

Thanks for the tip and I do sympathise with you as they are complaining about people distributing it however the most ironic thing about it is that they are doing the exact thing which they remove the content -_-,Oh the humanity...

A 'Mass Effect' Cerberus uniform (without sleeves though)! But there was only a white version... A rip from some Asian site, dunno which one.

Location is in the Market District, next to the 'First Edition'. On a side note: Long-haired Dandy Sheo enjoys the view like a boss!

Or you could just see about taking them to court over it, Besthesda might take the case on your behalf once it's widely known someone is profiting from their software without their permission. As you gave them permission to distribute if only freely, that's breach of contract right there; moderteam could go the way of the dodo and make it clear to the online community that piracy of once-free data isn't tolerated, but free sharing of free-made goods is.

 

Alternately, have the USG add it to the list of trade violations it wants to place on China. Certainly not the nicest way of resolving it, but a pretty firm example of what's going to happen if it continues.

that is not an option, many of the items are conversions of conversions or use parts from other modders works such as spb, hentai, kurse ect.

 

not to mention even if it was all my own I would not go that way its far easier to say "no more". they take for granted the things giving to them by other communities and I prefer to cock slap them all in the faces in my own way

Incredible. If I EVER see that happen with my stuff I am going to have a fit over there, becasue most of them understand a lot more English than they let on. This is ridiculous. Converting an already existing outfit to another bodymesh is tedious and I respect the work put into it, but in NO WAY does it justify charging money, may it be real or virtual currency. I am going to be sick.

i would not mind some of my work converted to bbb... good knows i don't have any idea of how to make those clothes bounce, but pay to get a body mesh converted version? thanks but no thanks... i'd rather share them and wait for someone nice to make them bounce, i'm still fighting fiercely against 3dsmax & blender to make those hairdos i saw on SPB mods... i wanna play with improbable hairs... i'm sure i saw rin, len and kaito clothes on my stuff... gonna dive on my portable hard drive... trying to sort more than 50+ gigs of mods is no easy stuff
