Shade115 Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 A couple days ago I decided to do a fresh install of Skyrim, as I thought my mods were getting stale and I had many I didn't use. So after I finally got everything re-installed, I boot up the game and get a crash... which was honestly expected. I did process of elimination to find out what could be causing the crash and to my surprise, disabling Race Compatibility (and the mods relying on it, obviously) stopped the crashing. Now, I would rather not have those mods uninstalled... so I am asking for help. Tried to put my Loadorder here, but it wouldn't let me... so I set it up below. Anything in my Loadorder that I put a "/" before is an inactive mod (ex: / RaceCompatibility.esm). loadorder.txt
LazyBoot Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Have you tried loading you entire loadorder in tes5edit to see if you get any errors there? If you crash before the main menu, then the issue, at least 90% of the time, is one or more missing mods.

I didn't find anything the first time but I may have missed something. As said, the game works if I don't have Race Compatibility active. Which is the main reason I am confused, as I have never had trouble with it before. I'm probably going to try another reinstall of Race Compatibility, as it specifically is causing the problem.
Lodakai Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 With that type of game load, you will want to make sure that you are using http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2551-crash-fixes/ Crash fixes. Otherwise you are going to run into string count issues. It might help alleviate this problem as well. You will also want a bashed patch. if you are using mod organizer.. make sure that your race Compatibility assets are not being overwritten, such as scripts. If you are using NMM.. well good luck =p

If you are using NMM.. well good luck =p I actually just found the solution, turns out it was an issue with Race Compatibility... and annoyingly enough (as in it is still my mistake) the solution was on the Mod page itself as an optional file to download. In other words, I should looked a little bit harder when I realized the crash was due to RC. Furthermore thanks for the initial link, I was looking for that and simply didn't remember were to find it. Time to label it as solved.
