Andromedian Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 who cares the permission when no one gets the permission from Bethesda for using their meshes.
Guest Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 who cares the permission when no one gets the permission from Bethesda for using their meshes. That's something I've been wondering about for a while now. If someone releases edited vanilla meshes, for example a mashup or like Mak07 an edited version of the vanilla boots, do you need permission from that author if you use parts of those meshes to make your own armor an want to release it?
Veta Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 We just opened a dead thread , but yes you need permission ,unless stated otherwise in the description.

Use it for whatever you want. It's just polite to ask the original author.
Andromedian Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 no you don't need the permission to edit or distribute any mod actually you can do it without the permission from its author. permission is only needed when the contents are legally owned by the author but most of authors just edit the vanilla meshes and add their custom made contents on it and put that on nexus. but if you make everything from ground floor then you own your creation unless you have to take the permission from Bethesda first to distribute what you have made. if you don't have a written permission from Bethesda when you distribute your mod then you don't have a right to claim ownership to your mod. when you don't have a right to your mod then no one can ask your permission to redistribute it because you are not its legal owner.
